I would rather have Kyle Boller than Chris Simms. He actually had some great games with the Ravens until he would make unexplicable fumbles.

On a different note, has anyone mentioned Jeff Hostetler? He is comparable to Steve Young.

Go Broncos.

Ha ha! Unbelievable. Not even a mention of Bubby Brister, Gary Kubiak or Chris Simms. Laughing The Broncos are poised to damage the Chargers this Sunday. LaDanian Tomlinson is gonna need a better excuse than turf toe to get out of this one.

Did you bump your head again?  How many times do we have to tell you, when you wake up in the morning you need to put on your "special" helmet.  It's the same one Eli wear's during bath time.

If your talking about somebody who just comes in and plays a few games or finishes the season, I will have to say Earl Morrall, who led both the Colts and Dolphins to Superbowls, when Unitas and Griese were injured.  I think he is one of the more underrated QB's in NFL history.  He was a winner, period.  If your talking about a backup who comes in and permanently takes over the starting job, then, of course, you go with Tom Brady, although Plunkett had a couple of real good seasons, and a Superbowl win.  He had a short period of success, while Brady has been consistenly great for several years.

I'm gonna have to go with Tom Brady. Came in when Bledsoe got hurt in the playoffs and led the Pats to victory. Extremley low draft pick and nobody seen the talent that this guy had.

Over 800 votes in and Tom Brady has collected 1/3 of the votes tallied. Some noteables that didnt make the list ate Kurt Warner, Steve Young, Steve Deberg, Gary Kubiak, Jim Sorgi and Doug Williams. Later Ill do a best of the Rest poll when I get a few more names. My vote still goes to Earl Morrell

I still don't understand how Brady counts as a back up QB. He stared 1 year after he was drafted and only because Bledsoe was really good. Just don't really think he should be on the list as a back up QB.

GO Jim Sorgi!

But the fact is Tom Brady was a Backup if only for one season.

Youre absolutely right. Sorgi is an amazing beast who has never started, took at least a snap in 16 games in a 6 year career and in those games has a good 63.5 completion percentage. Yeah you clearly know what your talking about Mr. Superstar, Guy hasnt played enough to be a HOFer. And I have watched this guy play two years ago in the final game of the season. Colts vs. Titans. Colts have already clinched Titans need this win. The man comes in and basically does nothing the entire time he is in and neither do the Titans. I thank him for the Titans playoff berth that year. And why the hell did you compare him to Ronnie Brown in the wildcat? And he only makes mediocre money for a backup. You clearly don't know anything.

Just because you have the label of Superstar doesnt make you right you ignorant, unknowing fool.

Listen to this guy, lol.  I know what I am talking about.  I have seen a lot of Jim Sorgi.  As a Patriots fan I need to know what the Colts backups are capable of doing and these are the statistics I have found.  Those are great numbers, and if he has an 18 year career you can triple those stats!  A little birdie told me about the wildcat and I am fearful of what Sorgi could do to the Patriots if the Colts whipped that out.  Who could see that coming?  When you watched him play were the handoffs not magnificent?  Did he not look more comfortable than Manning in the huddle, pocket, and under center?  Ike I don't know what games you have been watching, but clearly not the same ones as the rest of us.  Get Manning out of his way and Sorgi is a Hall of Famer.  1st ballot.

Still don't really know how that gives him the term "back up QB".

I don't get it either Shark.  How many QBs start from day one?  Shouldn't Brett Favre be on this list too then?  What about Joe Montana? I mean where do you draw the line?  I would say the guy  would have to have been a backup for at least 1/3 of a career to even be considered and more likely make it half a career to be legitimate to best "back up QB"  As for me, I still say hail Sorgi.

I mean clearly Sorgi is the best, even Patriots fans like you know it. He is better than Brady and Manning combined.

Shark you are a genius!  You have given me the perfect way to describe Jim Sorgi.

If Tom Brady and Peyton Manning had a child, it would be Jim Sorgi!

Now do you get it Ike?
