Ok Cards fans......OK....OK..... and one more time...........OK

Fans are freaking out, no big recruits for 2010, Pitino not signing anyone. His off the court deal is killing Louisville.
Come on guys REALLY?

Time for the TRUTH to set you FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
............That's right TRUTODAVILLE....that's me not oh my what do we do now MICROWAVE FAN>

Are you guys falling into the Microwave fan base and society? It's the same thing ever year. Pitino will have them ready when march gets here. He always has and always will at ever school he was at.

On Recruiting. Did it suck not getting Harris? yes sure it did we all know that. Is it the worst thing ever? NOOOOO....
Louisville is only losing THREE....yes i will say it again   "THREE". players.  Sosa, Smith and Delk.
So only three Scholarships open.

So losing a point Guard in Sosa. Next years starter will be Siva. Everyone likes Teague, wants Teague in Louisville right? So can't sign a 4 or 5 star Point guard for 2010 or Kiss any chance at teauge goodbye. Do you understand that guys? So what does Pitino do? He goes out and lands a under the radar kid in Smith. He was ready to commit before they even offered him the spot. Why did Pitino and Willard sit Smith down and want to talk to him and explain his roll to him in the future? Hell that as even in the news. Because they wanted him to know he will be Backup to Siva and Teague.

Point is Siva is better then Sosa guys. Don't get me wrong. I thank Sosa for everything he has done for Louisville, but Siva is better. So Point guard and lose there next year? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

On to the second guy leaving. Jerry Smith. Of the three guys leaving this will impact Louisville the most. But with the Improvement of Knowles, is Louisville really losing that much? I don't think so.

But....But.... Tru who will back up Smith, Louisville wont be as deep next year. Well there is the transfer from Manhattan Chris Smith. How good is he, I don't know but Willard likes him allot so I'm fine with a Junior Guard sitting out a year, then a freshman.

Finally there is Delk. Yes delk had a great game this week. But with Kuric, Swoope, and Marra is there going to really be a void when he leaves? No there wont be guys.

SO relax guys. If you sign three guys for 2010 then you can kiss the big recruits for 2011 goodbye.
It's all about 2011 and not 2010.

Now next thing. Samuels. Yes we was all worried with the talk of him or maybe Jennings leaving after this year. Truth, yeah that would suck bad.

But........Guess what guys, Samuels already said he is staying for his junior year. Yes its on tape. Why you ask. Well because they NBA scouts told him the 2010 draft will be big man heavy, and if he waits he will go from a  1st round pick in 2010 to a lottery pick in 2011.
So no need to sign a center this year now.

Come on guys Louisville will be returning 11 players next year. They will be a more experience team next year.

Now on to the 2011 recruiting class. Pitino already has three players lined up for 2011. Chandler the number 7 player overall in 2011 and Price the number 34 player in 2011. Both 6''10 centers. So there are your replacements for Samuels and Jennings.

Then you have Ryan Taylor a 3 star Small forward that is rising in the rankings. So leave a Scholarship open from 2010 for 2011 now.
With samuels, Jennings, Knowles, and Chris Smith leaving after 2010, and the one extra scholarship from 2010. Pitino can sign 5 players maybe 6 for 2011 class.

So Chandler, Price, Taylor so far for 2011. Who else then TRU.... How about Teague, Remember Blackshear, and Shaw. Can't sign them guys if Pitino signs three guys in 2010.

So relax the godfather will take care of everything. Like Pitino said in his Press conference today. He is looking to sign just one more guy for 2010. Or maybe not. He will only sign a guy if he is a impact player. Everything is about 2011 guys.

If you build it they will come. Wait tell the 2011 recruits see the knew arena.
So grasshoppers, calm down, don't worry.
This is just the TRUTH from TRU setting you FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE...

GO cards.

University of Louisville men’s basketball coach Rick Pitino was scouting another prospect at a prep school in Connecticut when he came across the Cardinals’ only signee so far for the Class of 2010 – Russ Smith.
The 6-foot, 160-pound Smith had been named MVP at one of Pitino’s camps when he was in middle school but had grown about four inches and impressed the coach while he was preparing for the season at South Kent (Conn.) Prep School.

So Pitino made contact, and earlier this week Smith signed with U of L.

“We weren’t actively recruiting him,” Pitino said. “He was only about 5-7 or 5-8 the last time we saw him. He grew and the day we went to see (Pittsburgh signee) J.J. Moore, (Smith) was the best player on the floor.“We were looking for someone who can play two positions in the backcourt to be a backup for Peyton (Siva) and Preston (Knowles). He’s terrific. We just fell upon him, and we’re excited to have him in our program.”

Smith averaged 29.6 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists last season at Archbishop Molloy High School in Queens, N.Y. He led the New York City Catholic league in scoring for two years, averaging 24.5 points a game as a junior. He was named to the New York State Sportswriters Association All-State team as a senior and his high game came twice last season at 47 points.“He’s very much like DeJuan Wheat,” Pitino said. “He’s exactly what we were looking for from an offensive standpoint.”

Pitino said the U of L staff is looking into perhaps bringing in one more player for the ’10 class and could even dip into the junior-college ranks.U of L already has three commitments for the Class of 2011 – Indianapolis Lawrence North standouts Michael Chandler and Ryan Taylor and Lakewood (Ohio) center Zach Price – and are in on several other top prospects. Pitino can’t speak publicly about players until they are signed.

“We put all our eggs in next year’s basket,” Pitino said. “So we need scholarships badly for next year. We may want to bring in one more player and that’s it.“We may not take another one. But if we do, he will be special. He’ll be an impact player, maybe even someone at the junior-college level with more maturity.”

TRU.... You have hit the Nail on the head brother! Right on.

I agreee.... Hard to believe all the "chicken littles" out there... over on Scouts.com they are saying we won't be a powerhouse any more because our 2010 class is nothing.
It doesn't need to be anything big. We have NINE frosh-sophs. 1 transfer in the wings. Frontcourt is solid for the next two years.
Bring in that 6'9 JUCO player and our frontcourt will be Awesome next year.

Russell Smith ( I LOVE that first name :) ) will be a nice role player, at the very least.

Great post TRU!  Best of the year!

Can't argue with a thing you just said.  I, too, look for us to be tough to beat from here on out---I see no drop off in our team.
