Welcome Patriots and Saints Nation. Grab an e-beer or whatever is your cup of tea, sit, relax and post to your heart's content. Here are the Patriots' inactives against the Saints tonight, per Boston.com. GO PATRIOTS!
The Patriots regained their left tackle, but they will be without their impressive rookie replacement. Matt Light is active tonight for the first time since Week 5, when he was injured at Denver. Sebastian Vollmer, who left last week's game with a head injury before returning, will not play. The offensive line will also be aided by the return of Steve Neal, who did not play last week because of a head injury.
Also, Junior Seau is inactive for the first time since his return, and Shawn Springs is inactive for the third straight week as an apparently healthy scratch.
I'm a Bruschi fan (obviously)... but I think he may have picked the wrong profession by joining ESPN... it's not a pretty sight. Doing a few life insurance and "Papa Ginos" ads doesn't translate well into on-air personality. On the bright side, at least the ESPN producers have told him to stop yelling-- I swear he sounded like he was giving a "win one for the Gipper" speach every time they had him commentating on something as mundane as dealing with an injury or playing in a nationally televised game.
I think it was a good thing that Sebastian Vollmer has filled in admirably while Matt Light was injured. It'll, hopefully, give Light some motivation to play well in his return.
With Julian Edelman is listed as the third quarterback, Boston.com is saying this means Isaiah Stanback will be the Patriots' primary third wide receiver option. You know, the one that loves Terrell Owens? ;-)

LOL, Beers. I haven't seen Bruschi on TV yet. But I'm not surprised to hear the passion he had for the game translated to broadcasting!
Patriots running game really seems to be weaker when Fred Taylor is out. The Patriots need him back. The Offensive Line also needs to block the Saints and open up the holes for the running game.
However I have to wonder how effective he will be tonight. The same could be asked of Matt Light and Stephen Neal. Neal has been out for quite a while but being a veteran, he knows what he's facing in a MNF game.
Here's to an entertaining and injury free game. I'm PUMPED for this one. I have a feeling we are all in for an intense night. Having both of our starting corners out honestly makes me a little nervous. I will try to check back with this thread at halftime.
I need Carney to kick about 30 FGs for me to win in one league. In the other, I just need Wes Welker to be well, Wes Welker. The guy is putting up some sick numbers.
Otherwise, I'm just rooting for a great game which is what I suspect we'll get. Make it Pats 35 Saint 33 (on the leg of 11 Carney FGs).
