7 Sure Fire but Surprising NFL Predictions - 2010

Santana Moss better get used to bending over to catch passes of the ground and out of stride. Portis is 100 years old. I'm an Eagles fan but Cowboys are the class of the East.

Cinncy will eke out over Ravens for division. TO will have significant impact and they have an underrated D

Jets and Dolphins (especialy) haven't PROVEN anything.

Well in Orton4Prez's fasion I too shall make a bold prediction....

The GB Packers will finish 4-12 this year.

Now if and when Rodgers blows out a knee in week 2 or 3, y'all will have no option but to call me a genius!

Don't get me wrong...I wish no injury of that caliber on any player.

Just making a prediction...

Orton is a liar, a fool, and a wimp.  I would love to slap him around a little, but know i will never get the chance.

I'll be in town and attending the Cowboys / Saints game.

7 Sure Fire but Surprising NFL Predictions - 2010

September 7, 2010 12:30 pm

This is the one I was waiting for...
Better than 70% against the line last year. Very impressive, but for the sake of making my point, let's call it 70%.
10 games against the line- $100 a game. $1000 total at risk.
7 wins- $7003 loses- $330 (10% juice)
Total winnings- $370
37% won vs money risked

.

First, you clearly are a betting noob if you bet even up across the board ATL. I personally know a bunch of guys who bet this way. You know what I call them? Losers. You see, real handicappers weigh out the amount they want to bet on their picks ATL.

Your risk v reward analysis is garbage....

This would mean that, at a 75K return, you put over 200K at risk, betting on which way a ball is going to bounce.

You have clearly not read what I posted. You've been "waiting" all this time and then messed it up. Wow.... I never said I ONLY made 75K ATL. I said I made that on my 2009 divisional predictions.

Nobody here buys it, but, let's assume you are telling the truth. It would seem to me, for a family man to put this much money at risk on what he thinks will happen is terribly irresponsible...Do you truly have that much risk capital sitting around?

First, I myself am a family man. Life is about taking risks. I switched professions because I found something I loved doing and am successful at. I don't care if you believe it or not. Really, I don't.  You have a built in blind bias towards anyone who does not spout love for the Cowboys with every sentence proves that.

Let me help you out...Perhaps you've heard that the real estate market in this country is currently in the toilet. However, that's the best time to get it, because they aren't making any more land, and a cyclical economy will rebound eventually. Buy it when it's cheap, sell it when it's not...Simple.

And this has to do with football how?  Regardless, if you're into buy R/E, I'm happy for you. Best wished for success. I myself own 3 properties. I think it's good to diversify.

Or...You could just go ahead put that kind of money on Donovan McNabb, or Aaron Rodgers, or whomever, and hope they do what you think they will.

Depends on your perspective. I have yet to make my bets. But I will. And for the record, if you are a betting guy, even for fun, will you explain to funk how betting works these days.

Which seems like the smarter move to you?

Perhaps you can clarify exactly what you're asking here. I think I've explained my position.

This is possible. However, there are a couple things you should note before you make this bet:

1) It's been almost 20 years since a Greenbay QB has gone down for any extended period of time. Some will say they are due. I say that they have some tough SOB's at the position.

2) Matt Flynn has looked pretty good. That team has a ton of talent and weapons on the offense. I think even without Aaron Rodgers, they win 8 games easily.

You've explained nothing...Here's what I'm asking.

Give a breakdown of what you DID risk and what you hit on and what you missed.

Surely, someone as astute as yourself in this area would certainly keep records with this kind of money on the line. Let's see how you managed to do so well.

More importantly, if this is your profession now, let's see how you do this year. Start a thread that chronicles all your bets for the season, futures or ATL's, BEFORE you actually do it. It's easy to say what you did...Let's have a look at what you WILL do.

I'll tell you what...Just for the Hell of it, why don't you and I make our picks, publically here on these boards, all year long ATL? I've always wanted to see how well I could do against a high roller....Don't forget to post your futures as well.

You up for it?

Of course I do. I have to, the government says so. And as a red-blooded America who believes in this country, I pay my taxes, begrudgingly...

And I'm happy to explain it to you, but it seems you are asking me to give you a week by week recap on who I picked, the line at the time, and how much I put down on each. That's the only way you can evaluate the total amount risked versus the ROI.

So here's the basics:

First, your VIG numbers are off.

I was in the money just north of 70%.
I pushed about 3%
I lost about 27%

I won't tell you how much I bet overall on the season, but your 37% number was actually high. (If this is how you want to calculate it). However, you call it "money risked". And based on how I pick, I don't take random uneducated risks. It's not like betting on the flip of a coin as others keep saying. Do I lose? Hell yes. I have never ever even once said I didn't.

Okay..You won some on futures, I get it...

How about the the ATL challenge? I'm not going to go 70%, but I'll put my picks out there for everyone to see.

Put my money where my mouth is, so to speak...How about you?

Are you joking?!?   We all KNOW "why not"!

It's much easier to carry on his charade and say he hit over 70% AFTER the fact.  Much harder to post the proof BEFOREHAND and prove the nonsense he spouts.

I assure you, the troll hits about 48% ATL if that.

Whether or not you like these guys Orton, they are right...

Let's see what you've got. You've made claims that you expect everyone here to take on faith, here's a golden chance to man up. I'm curious to know if you will taking turkey off your familes' plates this year, or putting it on...This is your profession, correct?

Earlier, you refered to me as a betting "noob"...Certainly you can do better than a noob, as you are a professional.

Thursday approaches...Are you what you say you are? Or are you just talk?...Find out soon enough, I guess.
