Speaking for all the Ohio State fans you guys played a really tough and hard fought game, I'd just like to congratulate the Orange and its fans on a great season and very good run in the tournament!!!
Chaser_2007 Thanks for the message. Classy. I felt going into this game that this would be the game we missed Melo and couldn't continue to give up offensive rebounds. Both came true. Ohio St. is my front runner to win it all now. Kentucky's youth will show and you have all the ingredients to win. Good luck, and enjoy. You played great tonight and deserved the win.
It was a good run for the CUSE, nothing for them to hang their heads about.. Amidst all the distractions - making it to the Elite 8 (almost) Final Four is a great accomplishment IMO. Next year, I believe the Orange will have best defense in the Big East with a frontline of Xmas/Keita at C, Fair and Southerland to complete front line? That's some serious defense! They will need to develop a go to guy similar to what Dion was this year. Brandon Triche, entering his 4th year as a starting PG, needs to be more consistent is all. If Carter Williams continues to improve, and build on the flashes he showed this year- he could emerge as the go to guy. The bench will go from 1 of the deepest to 1 of the shallowest . Players making contributions from bench will be 3 freshmen, Dajuan Coleman, Jerami Grant and Trevor Cooney (red-shirted this year)...How those three develop will be the key to making another run at a final 4
I actually think they will again be one of the deepest and play 9 per game consistantly. 2 legit PG's to handle the rock, and 3 legit C's should provide for enought depth at the most important positions in college ball. I like them to make the final 4.
Triche hasn't played PG in years, Michael Carter-Williams hasn't even started a game and barely got any minutes off the bench last season. CJ Fair, Keita and Christmas are all head scratchers at the four and five spots along with Coleman.
We'll be deep, but nothing great until the team get the experience and learns how to gel together. I expect us to be between 5-12 next year in the Big East pending how strong it is.
Gel Together?? They have 7 guys who have been playing and practicing together for over a year now. Cuse will be top 3 in the BE next year and that is a LOCK. Triche has played PG during spurts in games all of his career and he along with Fair are among the most steady in the BE let alone the team. They do need a Go-To guy, and I think that guy will be Triche in 2013, but they will be very balanced with plenty of ability to score from any position.
Name me the 4 teams that will be better next year.
So you're saying Coleman, Trevor Cooney, Michael Carter-Wiliams and Jermai Grant don't need to gel together?
Who do you think is going to get this team to a title? Oh that's right, the four guys above. The ones we have coming back wouldn't even be able to put us in the top half of the conference next year if they were a single team.
MCW will thrive...I thought in his limited minutes he continued to look better and better....puzzling why his minutes completely vanished at the end of the year...he fills up the stat board. Jimmy B needs to upgrade his coaching...he is so in love with his 2-3 zone, mainly because the media pumps it up and I think he has an ego about the zone...bottom line is this....there is no reason...no reason this team should not throw in man to man at times in games. It would actually make the zone even better....and will stop hot shooting teams from beating a far superior athletic Cuse team...that's the reason for all the upsets in years past...they get buried by 3's early and often...then late in games when they rally those small programs can hit their free throws as well.
