How about neither. Semin is like a crappy version of Fedorov, has all the talent in the world but only plays when he wants. I think he might be a locker room cancer too. I know the coaches are frustrated to no end with him also.
Hudler worked his but off I think only because he was in a contract year. He is lazy too. He had a real solid year in his first in the bigs a few years back and got himself a big payday in Russia. Whoever overpays for him will regret it. Ask the Sabres how that Leino contract is working out
Holland better do something this year to show Lidstrom he is serious about going for the Cup otherwise he will leave and if that happens forget about it. He is irreplaceable and I know at some point he will leave but our defense is weak already. If Lidstrom retires I hope Howard is ready for a heavy workload. Who would be our #1 dman? If it's Kronwall it will be a looooong season
Hey, 69. Not sure I follow you on Hudler. I think the Wings must explore trading his rights. Arguably, he isn't worth the 2,875 he's been making. Since he is an UFA, I'd hate to see Holland resign him for more $. Disagree on Quincey. Why compound that disaster? White, on the other hand, was a very good signing. As far as Bertuzzi goes; I didn't say the Wings should get rid of Bert. Only remarked that in hindsight not having to pay 2 mil for his shootout skills would be nice. Good point on Franzen. The length of the contract is a concern but his numbers have been consistent and hopefully he'll continue to produce for 3-4 more years. All in all, it will prove to be an interesting and challengeing summer for Holland. And it's certainly possible that we'll see some more crazy UFA signings again this summer (e.g. Leino, Wisniewski)...but hopefully not by the Wings.
