If Bizzle decides to trade Megatron he's trading him to me, oh and I'm winning the Championship this year without Peyton Manning, that's all I have to say...

KEEPER LEAGUE TRADES, SMACK, SUGGESTIONS

And Max makes the finals again.  Result this year'll be different, though, if AJ comes back.  I laid my egg this week and got flat lucky to advance.

So, heading into the offseason I am looking to package a few players for a superstar.  For a top RB I am willing to include one of VJAX, AJ, or Jennings (but it must be a top-5 RB).  Alternatively, the following can be had for picks after next week's game:

Pittsburgh or SF D/ST - high 2nd rounder or a first and I send my second back the other way.  Same for Dallas Clark.

Greg Little - a first.

Little housekeeping thing:  Should everyone have to pick up their IR guys back up this week so the keepers are easy?  Might be too late, but it'd save Zwic from having to go in and adjust rosters before draft time.  It's the last week - you should have plenty of room on your bench now for anybody you want to keep.

I will not be picking up what's-his-face, the Jags' backup RB, from IR.

You mean me?   Tongue out

It will actually be alot easier this year, b/c its now setup as a keeper league, with the draft picks figured in.  Let's hope.

Looks like literally half my starting lineup got injured for championship week.  Oh well, there's always next year or Brees may throw for 10 TD.

KEEPER LEAGUE TRADES, SMACK, SUGGESTIONS

So when do we set keepers for next year, and how do we conduct offseason trades both before and after keepers are set?  I've offered a 'post-keeper' trade to Dave that I think he's accepted, and If need be we can do it after the draft (he can tell me who to take and I'll trade that guy for his guy, even if his guy loses both legs between now and next year's draft).

No rush, but I think in a dynasty league we want to give the lower-finishing teams every chance to improve.  That means the earlier we set keepers after the SB, the liklier a good team keeps a guy who gets a replacement drafted ahead of him, or a FA signs with a good team and upgrades (or vice versa).  Guys we'd keep today will probably be quite different than guys we'd keep in late August from our current rosters and I think the teams with the early draft picks should get first shot at the 'improved' guys.

I'd also like to see a way to make trades during the offseaon, which the site won't allow, including trading guys we won't keep for picks/packages like we did last year.  A league manager altering rosters might be the only way, though.

Thoughts?

So how do we determine who gets the #1 pick. Superdave and I both had the same record, he had more total poins than me. IMO I should get the #1 pick for having the worst record and least points.

Everyone has to submit their keepers before anything can be done.  There are still about half the teams or more that need to set this.  Then we can move on to the next step.

Can we have an open trading period before we set our keepers?

With the season being over I think something NFL related to pass the time would be great.

I think we should make the keeper deadline sometime in March, maybe a few days before free agency starts?

Just my two cents...

I think we need to set our keepers before trading.  That way, we're actually trading with players we plan on keeping.  Doesn't seem right to trade away guys a team doesn't plan on keeping anyway.  Those trades should've been done before the season ended, imo.

But what if someone has more players than they'd want to cut and maybe spin two good players into one better player.

Or what if we have a guy we want to cut that someone else is willing to trade for?

Like I said, those trades should've happened before the season ended.  If they have more players than they're willing to cut, its not fair that they get to start the "trading season" with more players than someone else.  I think tough decisions have to be made before any team can start making trades.

Well I ******g disagree! Cool

I think we should all be allowed to trade away right now. Some guys value certain players mroe than others, some guys really like draft picks.

Those "borderline" keepers are great for evening out value in multi player trades....

And also, there's nothing NFL-realted to do this time of year; I want to work on my team damnit!

Can we get someone other than myself and Micro to weigh in on this? Perhaps Zwic?

I think we've both made our cases (mine was better, obviously Wink), and now it's up to the masses (or just Zwic if none else has an opinion) to make the decision.

On a realted note- does anyone know if real (NFL) teams can make trades right now?

I'm under the impression that they can't until the new league year starts, but I guess I'm not 100% sure on that. It would make sense that they can once the Super Bowl is over, I guess, but the more I think about it, the more have no idea...
