Last nights loss was it for the Avalanche. Varlamov didnt play well enough at the start of the season to make up for it now by playing well. He played bad for far too long and thats what will keep the Avs out of the playoffs this year. I hope this is the end of Sacco and the Avs bring back JS Giguere in case Varly does this again next year.
Last nights loss to Columbus showed Joe Sacco needs to go. Youre fighting for a playoff berth and you lose. Thats bad, but thats not what makes it bad. It was at Home which makes it worse, but thats not the worst part. It was against the WORST TEAM IN THE NHL! There is no excuse and if Sacco had any integrity he would resign his position for it. Even if the Avalanche don't make the playoffs winning the game thats just a matter of circumstance, but to lose to Columbus at home and eliminate the chance no matter what is just unacceptable. This once proud franchise is a joke now and doesnt know what direction to go to get back to the playoffs. WHen they make it they squeak in.
