Anyway, the Heat shot horrible but as in any sport, defense can keep you in a game.
Having LeBro James on your team doesn't hurt your chances either.

if we keep playing defense like that we wouldn't need a center. but still hopeful we can acquire a decent big men to cure our rebounding woes. bosh is inconsistent with rebounding.

"I hate the fact that the Heat are considered the favorites, they won't win multiples.  They will never compete with the Bulls of the 90's, too many stars not enough role players. "

Yeah, James-Wade-Bosh is a lot different than Jordan-Pippen-Rodman. OK. The teams you don't like will never compete (in your mind) with the teams you loved. That's the nature of fandom. We get it. But don't manufacture blatantly incorrect arguments to attempt to support your opinion.

"but tell ya what, twocoach, let's see that shooting percentage win them a title. THEN you can run your dumb flap..."

Well, the Heat shot 2-13 from 3 and were still able to beat your Lakers just fine... The difference being that James played FOUR quarters of good basketball while Kobe only played ONE. Both players took 25 shots, but James had 39 points to just 22 for Bryant in those 25 shots. And James' 8/2 assist/to ratio is a laugher over Bryant's 1/6 ratio. ONE assist in 43 minutes?

It would help if Howard and Gasol weren't skirt-wearing wussies that didn't make any attempt to impose their will on their obvious matchup advantages. All Howard did was cry to the refs all night. He was completely mediocre last night. You'd be better off as an organization if he DID go somewhere else for next year so you could spend the money on a quality player that is actually interested in WINNING.

I was pretty impressed with Jamison and Clark last night. They put up a good fight and showed some real effort and heart out there and gave LA some good minutes. MWP also avoided taking too many dumb shots, but he has lost a step (like a lot of LA players) on the defensive end. James had his way with him all night.

Another good win to end the six game road trip at 3-3. The good news for LA is that Portland, Houston and Minnesota are all playing terrible basketball right now. They don't even have to play great to get in the playoffs; just suck slightly less than they have...

senile chiefs just because kobecita failed after saying he could beat lebron one or one, or "im a mo fo, im playing great bball than ever before" then goes on to blame his defensive assignment and other players for not giving him space to shoot doesnt mean u have to be a grumpy old man and hate lebron. why don't u look at ur ballhog ryaper superstar first and see that maybe his selfish and inefficient play is the root of all ur disappointments.

If we are going to take liberty with the facts, take away the dozen missed bunnies in the land for Miami and the Heat win by 20+. They missed a ton of easy, open shots at the rim that were uncontested. LA had NOTHING to do with those errors. The reason LA had all those turnovers was the defensive pressure of Miami. I didn't see them making silly, unforced errors.

I thought it was a great game and fun to watch. The Heat played well, Lebron played great. The Lakers, outside of the turnovers, played well and I thought, gave their most consistent effort this season.

I think the Lakers may have stumbled onto something in this game. When they slowed the game and made it more of a half-court game, they were able to use their size to their advantage as this is the weakness that the Heat have. Especially when they brought the ball up the floor quickly and started the offense early.

When the Heat were able to speed the tempo up, they had a clear advantage. Also, you cannot have a turnover differential of 20 to 6 and expect to beat Miami. The only team in the league that could possibly get away with it is OKC and even then, you wouldn't want to make a habit of it.

Aside from the turnovers, the other key was the defensive adjustment that the Heat made in the 2nd half. They started forcing the ball out of Nash's hands earlier by doubling him almost as soon as he crossed half-court, this took the Lakers out of their game for most of the 3rd quarter.

I thought Kenny Smith (I believe it was him) stated it perfectly after the game. If the Lakers bring that kind of effort for the rest of the season, they will make the playoffs. The question is: will they?

How does a team with Dwight Howard at center allows 68 points in the paint?

I thought he was suppose to protect the paint?

That was more a result of the fast breaks ending in dunks and layups than being Howards fault.

This year is their window to get a second title..after that, let the circus leave town once again and back to mediocrity and irrelevancy  for heat fans.

You guys are so funny. I assumed this would be your reaction to yet another disappointing game for the Lakers. I can only IMAGINE what it would have been like from you clowns if the Lakers had won that game.

And the joy I find in this Heat win is that it makes the Lakers road to the playoffs just that much harder. I could just picture you guys getting all revved up as Kobe was getting hot in the 4th quarter, thinking "Oh, year, here it comes, baby!" only to watch your hopes dribble down your leg like yet another Lakers turnover...
