BTW, I'm hoping Kobes tired legs are all set vs the Bulls tonite.  The lower the seed the Bulls end up, the better.

Pretty sure that a professional athlete can recover quickly after 40 minutes of play.

About the Bulls, I'd prefer to play them in the later round.  The Bulls is always going to be tough in the 1st round, unless you mean they may challenge the EC best record once Rose comes back.

I don't know about Kobe, but freakin' Dwight Howard should be well rested for tonight's game!!Yell

the only player who plays well rested is gasol.
maybe dantoni should rest his starting five a la popovich and just let gasol and the scrubs play against memphis. who cares about the fines. ya really gotta do something w/ these overpaid athletes.

By BKXCUSE's logic, he is not a Heat fan because he's been just an anti-Kobe fan,
jumping from any other team except the Lakers before Lebron came to Miami

Bk is absolutely a heat fan.  he was posting on the heat board back in 15-67 and Mike Beasley days.   he may be anti-lakers.. and may root for anyone who plays the lakers.   but he has definitely been a heat fan way before Lebron showed up.

So whether it is Dwight and Lebron or whoever, the Lakers will not have a problem re-loading the roster.
And that my friend TF12 is what really bugs the heck out of other NBA fans..how easy we reload and become relevant and contenders.

The Lakers as a franchise will always be the most sure thing there is to an NBA Championship(s )and HOF career  or validation.  We dont go looking for NBA stars....NBA stars come looking for us.

Yeah, I've always found it funny that Laker fans get called "delusional" among other things, for believing that the Lakers will always do and the Lakers have always done. That is, anything they have to do to be a championship contending team.

Does it always work? Of course not. Nothing does. But considering that I have been a Laker fan since 1970 and have witnessed 11 championship seasons, seen them play in approximately 20 finals and can count the number of seasons that they haven't made the playoffs on one hand, it seems to work more often than not.

However this season and next season end, the fact is that after next season, the Lakers will basically be able to look at the free agent class and put together virtually any kind of team that they want.

If Dwight re-signs (and most reports are that he will), then he makes a pretty nice piece to build around. One thing that I have learned as a Laker fan, is to never get too worried when the inevitable "down season" comes along, because I know it will not last more than a couple of years or so at a time.

of course it bugs other fan bases how quickly the Lakers reload.   why wouldnt it?  why wouldnt the loyal Magic fan be totally annoyed that they draft shaq and then dwight...only to see them bolt for LA.   how about the loyal Bucks fan... who cant catch a break in free agency.   the lakers have alot going for it.. their pedigree, the marketing aspect of their city.

yes we all get it.  doesnt mean we have to like it.   seriously... name me a trade the lakers have done in the last 40 years where they came out on the bad end.  name it.

will it continue in the future?  im not convinced.   the NBA is changing.   the luxury tax is becoming more servere.   i honestly think the NBA is trying to go the way the NFL has... with an eventual hard cap.   who knows.   if the NBA continues as is.. yes the lakers wont be down for long.  2-3 years in a row without the playoffs would be the longest i could really ever see.   they will either get a great player through the draft or go steal the next great player from the charollote Hornets.

what makes me happy right now?   my team.   the Heat.  we are better than the lakers.  it's our turn.  ive watched laker dynasties as my team struggled to make the playoffs.    now it's your turn.  learn how the other half lives.   HEAT REPEAT!!!

Definition of DYNASTY

1 : a succession of rulers of the same line of descent
2 : a powerful group or family that maintains its position for a considerable time

After one championship, it may be a tad early to talk about a dynasty!!

My question is this: Why cry, complain and bash Laker fans for it? Why not complain about how your teams front office is handling your team? Part of the reason that the Lakers are always looking to do whatever is necessary to be a championship contending team is because Laker fans won't accept less than that.

Laker fans pay some of the highest ticket prices in all of sports, fans will simply find other ways to spend their money if the Lakers go more than a couple of seasons without being a contender.

You're a Heat fan. Your team just won it's 2nd championship in the past 6 or so years, it's fun huh? And your in position to possibly add another championship or 2. Rather than complain about the Lakers and how they spend money and attract free agents, you should be looking ahead and demanding to know what ownerships plans are to make sure that Lebron stays in Miami when his current contract expires and some of the older pieces on your team (Ray Allen, D-Wade, etc.) retire or are no longer as productive due to age.

Forgot to address this part. They should be annoyed at the Magic's ownership, not the Lakers. Both Shaq and Dwight led the Magic to finals appearances. Both expected that ownership would add the pieces to be able to get them a title and ownership dropped the ball.......twice!!

I'd say that it's a safe bet that had ownership done that, neither would have left. Other teams may not be able to re-load as quickly as the Lakers, but it can still be done in a relatively short amount of time if ownership has foresight. Look at your Heat. They paired Shaq with D-Wade and got a title. They tried one more season and it didn't work. They then put together a plan to dump a bunch of salary and reload the team when the free agent group that included Lebron came up and it worked.

What stops other teams from doing the same?

Funny you said that!   After all, this is the jealous, senseless "Heat Hater" thread comprised of mostly Lakers fans being the extreme "Haters" .   Since you're one of the more logical posters, should you've said something about the "Heat Haters" first?   You know they are the complainers about the baseless "collusion".

I am sure the rest of Miami organization is on top of all the pieces surrounding the Heat.   Still the complaint is that the playing field is not fair.   Until there is a hard cap in place, it will be difficult for smaller market to compete.   However, this is the right (maybe short) time to rule against bigger markets as OKC, SA, Memphis, Miami are on top.

Let the LAL sleeps for a while.

16>2. how on Earth can WE be "jealous" of ANYONE...?

in fact, how 'bout this? the fans here that hate the Heat hate them because they find this organization offensive in one way or another. has nothing to do with the teams we follow. never did. LOL you, Turnip, crappedmyshorts, and every other Heat fan WISHING the world would look up to you just might try finding another excuse...

Since you're one of the more logical posters, should you've said something about the "Heat Haters" first?

No. My post had nothing to do with Heat Haters. Which, by the way, I happen to be one of.

You know they are the complainers about the baseless "collusion".

I've never been one to accuse them of collusion. I do not consider players talking to each other collusion. If it turns out that the Heat front office was directly and secretly having discussions with the agents of Bosh and Lebron while they were under contract with their respective teams, then I would buy into the collusion that others have cited. However, I have seen no proof of this.

My issue with the Heat was, is and always has been, the way in which Lebron left Cleveland. Not for the fact that he left as he was within his rights as a free agent and I am convinced that the reason anyone lives in Cleveland is simply that they don't know that they are allowed to leave. Rather, my issue has been with "The Decision" as I felt it looked as if he thought he was bigger than the game and it was disrespectful to Cavs fans and to great players who paved the way for him to be in the position that he's in.

I also did not like the big "not 1, not 2, etc. fireworks party that they had either. Again, I felt it was disrespectful to the game and to the league because it appeared that they thought that it really was going to be that easy.

Still the complaint is that the playing field is not fair.   Until there is a hard cap in place, it will be difficult for smaller market to compete.   However, this is the right (maybe short) time to rule against bigger markets as OKC, SA, Memphis, Miami are on top.

How is the playing field not fair? Because some teams are willing to spend more than others? Because some owners will take on the added expense of a luxury tax in order to win and others won't? It seems to me, that is simply business owners making decisions on how they wish to run their business. Other teams can go over the cap and pay the resultant tax understanding that if they are putting a quality product on the floor, they will still be profitable because they are winning just like the Lakers do. They just choose not to.

if you dont think the Orlando front office hasnt taken a beating from it's fans... then you arent paying attention to orlando (which you the same as 99.9% of america).   LA has an inherent advantage being in LA having the pedigree.   Take the laker front office and move them to charlotte... youre not winning titles.    other fans bash lakers fans because were fans.. that's what we do.

Laker fans pay some of the highest ticket prices in all of sports, fans will simply find other ways to spend their money if the Lakers go more than a couple of seasons without being a contender.
i agree.  especially if the Clippers start contending.

im not complaining about laker fans or what LA does.  i honestly couldnt care less.  the lakers mean nothing more to me than portland or milwaukee do.   i was just answering a question that was put out there.   im not a laker hater at all.   there just another team.   why would any heat fan worry about the Lakers right now.   we have bigger and better things to do this year than give any thought to what the 12th place team in the west is up to.
