Reagrding the Ox passing away, I saw the footage from the Amazing Journey doc where he discussed what Ox's playing meant to the Who's sound, just from a purely harmonics standpoint. He said Ox made it so they didn;t have to bring a bunch of extra musicians on the road-fascinating stuff for those of you that haven't seen it....(jonny I know you have buddy!)I did LD. I was still a bit too young to have seen The Who before they called it quits (the first time, in 82). I was however lucky enough to see them twice on the reunion tour of 89, where they did bring a ton of extra musicians with them on the road. Pete was still having trouble figuring out how to play and keep his hearing intact. I saw the first show on the tour in Toronto. They played Tommy in it's entirety, getting ready for the big show at Radio City the following week. Later on that summer I saw them again in Buffalo. They finally started playing some of the later stuff (Emminence Front, some stuff from The Iron Man). I did have tickets to see them with Entwistle on the tour that he died. I ended up not going to that show, but I did see them a few years ago, after Endless Wire was released.
