That song, like many from that period, evokes such vivid images. Bernie Taupin wrote some of the most amazing lyrics ever, and Elton set his words to perfect musical landscapes. As close to perfect as anything I've ever heard. I also firmly believe that their unique approach to songwriting, lyrics first and then music, was a big factor in the songs being so unique.
