The sky is the limit for Moustakas. He plays the hot corner. Best of all, he has an incredible work ethic and is a team player/leader. It's a joke that baseball america has this guy rated as the royals #3 prospect.
Will Mike be the 3b opening day for the KC Royals? or is it another one of these ? June call up deals- I had enough of those from last year. Anyone with an inside track?

its probably more a testament to the #1 system in the game than an indictment on baseball america
He struggled a little with the transition to Triple A. Hit around .250 with an OBP of only .260. Very likely he starts there with a promotion around June if he plays well...though it isn't out of the question that he stays down until September.
I really doubt he will be at the big league level at the start of 2011. If he has a good spring gets off to a great start in the minors, he could be called up once the arbtration date skips back another year. If he is only good, but not great in AAA, he will probably spend most of the year there and come up in September. Not that I think this will happen, but if by some miracle, if the Royals are in contention, that could sway a sooner promotion, but I don't think it will be before June regardless.
chjohn, The #1 system in the game? gimme a friggin break, The last 2 "big time" prospects the royals had were Grienke, who they traded away, and Gordon, who hasn't done crap. Billy Butler is a good ML hitter but the Royals aren't even close to the best system in the game. The only reason they are even in the top half is because they trade away most of their real talent for minor leaguers that they don't have to pay.

Every expert disagree with you. I challenge you to find one who doesnt have them in the top 2
What real talent have they traded away for minor leaguers? In the last 6 years, they have traded Greinke and DeJesus
all the Royals do is trade away their major league ready players for prospects. Of coarse they have a good farm system. Heck their major league club is nothing more than a farm system. Once Billy Butler fully blossoms into a major league stud a higher market team will swoop in and take him away and leave behind a few top prospects.
The Royals must love competing and winning those double and triple a games because that's what they seem to trade for.
Anyways, Moustakas will probably get the call up sometime in late May
Royals may average less than 2 runs per game, meaning that even if he gets a shot, which is unlikely, he could have 20-25 RBIs in a full seaon with this team

I'll hate to say I told you so in a couple of years but these prospects are for real. Everyone in baseball recognizes it.
Moustakas and Hosmer are soon to be studs! Will Myers is a guy to watch and so is Cain from Milwaukee and the SS they got in the Grienke trade. Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus! Yost is in his 1st full year and is exactly the type of manager that can handle young talent. And, while I haven't agreed with all of Dayton Moore's decisions, he is himself a prospect as a GM. Just wait boys and girls. KC will buzz Royals baseball again soon.
