@movaughn.I love your post.I don't go by those 'Bill James' (Red Sox) stats but I guess they have their place. That shlt sure ain't helpin the Bosux this yr.though.@vonstev1668.I cut him because he's givin me too many single pt.weeks.I'd love to pick up Salty f/Bos.but as soon as I pick up a Catcher that next week when they become elig.their numbers go straight into the toilet. It's happened to Russ Martin & A.J.Ellis.Then somebody dropped Wieters who despite having a disappointing yr.I'm hoping to hold onto him for a while(crossed fingers)I couldn't take this phukin kid.He had 2 great weeks & 1 very good week by Catchers standards;all the other weeks were single digits, unacceptable. To his credit he was xstarting to swing the bat well starting w/that 15K Scherzer GS when he drove in the go-ahead runs(2-run single)I am a little spoiled because I've got Santana on 'my' better team.
The 1st thing I'd like to say is anyone who owns this p u s s y,cut him, drop him, kill him, just get rid of him!@icenix.Who did you trade for Avila?I hope it was someone like a Francisco Liriano, who actually Won last night.Enough is enough with this kid.Send him to the minors, because he doesn't have the pain threshold to be a MLB Catcher.Laird was doing a very good job filling in for this waste of a draft pick.Yeah,I drafted him w/the1st Pick in the 7th Round but dropped him on 6/6 for Russ Martin, who was coming off a 30pt.week,he proceeded to have a week like the season he's havin, garbage. Then it was A.J.Ellis,who proceeded to stink it up as he has over the past month.I know Ellis'.OBP is still up to par but look at his BB:K rate.
Christheyankee, I don't think its his pain threshold that is the problem because last year he was becoming well known for his toughness and playing a lot of games. Leyland admitted that he probably overused him last year because of it. Anyone who drafted him at his ADP has gotta be frustrated with him but I think hes going to turn it around by having at least a decent second half.
@ReservoirDog25.I hear you my dude.I was basically guessin. It's tough for any hitter, especially in the 1st Half of their 2nd Yr.He's gotta worry about the Pitching staff & he's gotta or is expected to produce offensively.Good post dude.
BMAC23, Grandal is a good hitter but he plays in San Diego. Avila has a lot of potential but he needs to prove the year so far has been because of the injury and that he can work his way back to last year's form. Montero is pretty consistent and has moments where he really stands out. Perez looks like he has a lot of potential but it is still too early to tell. Depending on your situation I would put them in order of Perez, Montero, Avila, Grandal.
