You guys are lucky to see it live and in person or live on the tube. I have to wait for NFL Network and catch it whenever I can. Don't forget fellas, live football starts tomorrow. Alrighty Thirteen, you've had all winter to rest up that bum elbow. I wanna see some drinks pouring and some steins sliding.......Are YOU ready for some FOOTBALL!!!
Don't forget.....there's football on tonight! Seattle @ San Diego. Be sure to watch for Bullet Bob in the first series or so. He won't play much more than that. Since I'm in the Wash/Balt corridor, I also get to see the Ravens vs Eagles (happy, happy, joy, joy).
Last but not least, back in the merry month of May, a certain someone mentioned Marshall Williams, as an undrafted prospect from Wake Forest University that the Colts might want to bring in for a look see:
"That said, here are, in no particular order so as not to slight anyone, four very capable wideouts with unique skill sets. The last one, with the shake and wiggle to take it to the house every time the ball lands in his hands:
4) Phillip Livas - Louisiana Tech University: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v31pT_20LYc&feature=related....... Not to mention I want to hear Chris Berman call out "There goes "Saturday Night Livas" and he...could...go...all...the...WAY!
Yep, I think that'll just about do it for the wideouts...."
Well sir, Livas decided to take his talents to South Beach (who can blame him...), Sanzenbacher headed to the Windy City, Binns opted to sign on with the Jags, and guess who was just recently picked up by the Colts after being released by the Broncos????
At this point, the odds of him sticking are about as certain as a Casey Anthony change of heart and a guilty plea, but AT LEAST he's in camp! And what did I say before? "he has the capability of running the wildcat......and throwing on the money!"
Now that someone in the Colts' front office is reading these posts, can we also get former Vikes DT Pat Williams in camp for an eval? PUULLEASE?
Don't forget.....there's football on tonight! Seattle @ San Diego.
Not gonna forget! Bar is open! Plenty of cold beer and nachos and the big screen is on ESPN.
I bet your on the money Kappa about Brittle Bob getting only one series if that.
Just two more days till we get to watch the Colt & Rams. Iwouldn't count on a win, Caldwell already said this game is for evaluation. What the heck, I would rather win when they count anyway. Still be nice to pull out a win!
Hey barkeep, let's do some ice cold Reyka shots! So far, San Diego looks pretty good to be in camp for only 2 1/2 weeks. Regarding the Colts, think about it.....They have a legitimate shot at winning since Painter will be in early and the more battle tested, experienced QBs will be in afterward. As long as they're protected, they might be able to pull off a couple of pre-season wins. Right now, the announcers are talking about how valuable Billy Volek is. And why is he so valued? Because he's talented and he has actual gameday experience. What does Painter have?
Bert Jones' number, that's about it.
On THAT sour note.....another shot of Reyka.....Ahhhhhhhhh!
Man its good to have football back! I'm not sure how much cap room we have, but I sure would like to have Pat Williams to anchor the D-line. I keep hearing how Houshmandzadeh is in town. Can someone send a half ton truck and fetch Williams?
I'm with you on that Kappa. I'm excited to see what this Colts team can do this season. I also hope that Peyton Manning is able to start in the season opener without any lingering effects from the neck surgery.
Hey Adonis! I'm ready for some Colts football also. It was a long long off season.
Ahh.......the advantage of having a seasoned quarterback. Granted its pre-season, but I doubt if the Colts have had the ball in their posession for more than it takes for a toll booth operator to make change. You think Nate Davis and Mike Hartline feel pretty good, right about now?
Thank God we have #18 on the mend, on the sidelines........
Hey Thirteen! I can't see the game until tomorrow morning at 10:00am, but is it as bad as it appears to be?
My tv lost it's signal (severe thunderstorm) about three seconds after Curtis Painter threw the interception a few minutes into the first quarter. I missed all but the last minute of the quarter. What little I did see is making me pray a little harder for Peyton Manning to get healthy!
Chris, get on the phone and call Pat Williams, please.....
From the looks of things (or the absence of posts), I can tell that most of you are fairly shell-shocked too. I honestly thought that the Jax-Pats game was a dog, but I had no idea what was looming ahead. Maybe its a good thing that I didn't see this live after all.
Just posted on NFL.com from Tom Brady1 (I want to give credit where its due - emphasis mine):
"I'm tired of the "without Manning you suck " stuff. Maybe if they ever drafted a decent back up they could push the ball without Manning. Everyone thinks Manning is the only guy that can run that offense. Last time I checked he has had good weapons his entire career."
Hmmm. Even other team's fans know what we all know. How is it that the Colts' front office haven't a clue?

Yep, the Rams are giving a darn thorough thumping! Curtis Painter didn't surprise no one. We all knew (except Colts management) what we were going to get. Dan Orlovsky kind of disappointed me. He had 111 yds on just 4 completions with a td but he had 2 picks.

I'm beginning to giving up hope that they will get a clue and get a decent backup qb.
Thirteen, I thought it was gonna be a packed house tonight, but it looks like most of the guys opted to look elsewhere. Give me one more shot of tequila for the road and I'm out as well. Without seeing the game, it still looks like we still need:
1) Some time MAJOR time this offensive line to jell.
2) Another wideout with the ability to make something happen (that will be rectified on Monday, when Housh becomes a Colt).
3) More pressure on the opposing quarterback.
4) An actual, bona fide, honest to God, back up quarterback capable of moving this team.......FORWARD, not backward.
4) Pat Williams.
Here's to hoping that Santa wears Speed Blue and White during the summer.
Apparently I was a little to quick to pull the trigger on the Houshmandzadeh signing. He plans to visit who? the Patriots...today. What appeared to be a done deal wasn't consumated.
Meanwhile, Pat Williams languishes on the side with no overtures from Indy. I can't think of a better cog in the defensive wheel to go along with Harris, Nevis, and Johnson.
Lastly, we still haven't seen hide nor hair of a (legitimate) Colts' backup quarterback anywhere. We'll see what a week can do and whether home cooking really matters.
So...let me get this straight. Nate Davis, who hardly sniffed playing with the first unit, gets cut after almost duplicating the stats of the alleged back up "quarterback" and DIDN'T throw an interception in this past weekend's massacre in St. Louis. Boy.....are we in trouble should #18 have lingering issues. Not only is the front office oblivious to the possibility that Manning might try to rush things and hinder his return to complete health, they REFUSE to see the necessity of having a competent interim replacement should the unthinkable happen.
This gives the phrase "dumb luck" an extra added meaning. Coach Caldwell, better get a spine and speak up before all eyes are upon YOU!
