He actually uses a perfectly legal (for now) pressurized "egg" oxygen chamber that he sits in which is about twice as effective as blood doping at increasing red blood cell counts. I highly doubt he takes any illegal performance enhancing drugs. He doesn't need them. He was close to good enough before, had an allergy that he fixed, and added confidence does make a huge difference. He won't keep this up for more than a few more months probably, but I think he earned this amazing season entirely on the up-and-up.
I really don't think that the Djoker's on steroids. I'm not sure how much they would help you in tennis anyway. Yeah you could probably hit the ball harder, but they won't give you the pinpoint accuracy that Djokovic has right now. I think that he will end up similar to what happened to James Blake. People forget that Blake was ranked number 4 in the world in 2006 and was ranked in the top 10 as recently as 2009. He got that ranking because he hits the ball as hard as he can just about every time he swings and had a stretch of time when the ball landed in the court most of the time. Djokovic is doing the same thing right now. He's just smarter and more accurate with the shots he takes. I don't think his dominence will last very long. He's gonna start making more errors and end up not as low in the rankings as Blake is, but he's not gonna be a guy who wins 2 or3 slams every year. I would expect him to win one every once in a while and stay consistently in the top 5. But his reign at number one wont be one that breaks any records. Just my take.
Moron - how in the world would steroids help a tennis player? It's just as much a finesse game as it is a power game. Not to mention he only serves in the 120s, which is nowhere near guys like Roddick, Isner, etc. He injured his lower back in the championship match yesterday and his first serves were in the 90 to 95mph range for much of the last set and he still won.
If your "came out of nowhere to dominate" theory was true, then I guess you could say the same thing about Federer, right?
I find it funny he accuses a lot of people that have never had a positive test of this. Usain Bolt really??? Steroids have never even been in the same sentence as him. The kid is just a machine. Your an idiot once again Sman, do I have to own you like I did on the NBA boards bro.
Actually, I do agree with him about Usain Bolt. I think that all the Jamaican sprinters have found a way to get through the test without it coming up positive. Personally, I was lucky enough to have competed in professional track & field in the early-mid 2000's I was even an olympic trials finalist in 2004. I still continue to coach the sport to this day. I've been around the sport for a long time and I've never seen anybody of his physical stature run like that. Most of the top sprinters in the world are between the heights of 5-10 and 6-2, and they're jacked. Bolt isn't as close to as muscular as the rest of the 100 and 200m runners and he's close to 6'6''. And the thing that tips the scale for me is that at the world championships just couple weeks ago, the Jamaicans set a world record in the 4x100m relay without Asafa Powell, who is considered the 3rd best 100m runner in the world, behind Bolt and Tyson Gay.
Oh yeah and fyi, Usain Bolts world record in the 100m of 9.58 secs is over a tenth of a second faster that the second fastest time, which belongs to Tyson Gay at 9.69. For those that dont follow track and field, that is an eternity.
CUSA, there are ways around tests if the athletes are surrounded by professionals that understand the cycles and how long it takes the body to metabolize it so it doesn't show on tests. Professional cyclists have had this art down for years.
Only fair for Djokovic, seeing as how Rafa's been taking them for years. Rafa winning majors at 19 years old, whereas it's taking guys to mature in their mid-20s before they can crack the Top 10 (see Mardy Fish). Actually, Fish probably taking steroid cocktails too, now that he's winning.
We need to require guys to grow their hair long--if it starts looking like WWE wrestler hair, then the steroid truth will be known.
You obviously know Jack Squat about tennis too. They test in tennis more than all other sports combined. You cant even take cold medicine or an allergy pill without them finding out.
Another whiney little Fed or Nadal fan that cant except the fact that their hero is not once what he was. The truth of the matter is that fed is getting old and Nadal is breaking down physically. Djoker also improved his serve greatly. He also changed his forehand grip as well and hits his groundies as well as anyone. That allows him to control points instead of having to sprint back and forth just trying to get balls back. That is why he is not having endurance issues anymore, he is not the one doing the running now.
Do yourself a favor and stick to jocking your heroes and leave any real analysis to those who know what they are talking about. You make yourself look like an even bigger Azz then you already are.
This is funny. Do you have any actual data to back up your assertion that "They test in tennis more than all other sports combined?" Or just your love of Djokovic? How many total drug tests, and what kinds of tests waas Djokovic subjected to? Blood or urine? What did they test for? If you did your research, you would realize they actually test LESS in tennis than most other sports. And when exactly did Djokovic have to stop running so much? Part of his newfound dominance is his ability to run faster and longer than he ever did before and track down balls with enough time to take a come up with a powerful reply. And how did Djokovic improve his serve? Magic?
From your comments you do not sound like someone who knows much about the sport of tennis (or the art of rhetoric), even if you may actually be such a person. Such changes as you have mentioned do not produce instantaneous results, but in fact take years to master and effectively implement in competition. Plesae do yourself a favor and stop lashing out with nonsensical, unsubstantiated ramblings and made-up facts to deflect negative criticism of your hero.
