Trade Matt Holliday

December 2, 2011 10:20 am

Trade him. He's not worth the money. He seems to never come up big in a tight spot. I think he pads his stats in those one-sided games, because he never seems to do anything when it matters. I have no confidence in him. Also, I can't stand these supposed "big tough guys" who get injured all time.  Staying healthy is a part of talent.

Also he's a liability on defense. I was done with him for good when I saw him yelling "Take it, Take it" to Furcal on that ball in the outfield, during the world series.

Lets say Pujols walks... what do you think we could get for the ball boy? Tongue out

Probably an elite bat boy.

I'd like to get that Dallas Cowboys' cheerleader that is dating the Buffalo Bills' receiver Nelson.  As one football reporter wrote, "she's scalding hot".  Those guys are prone to hyperbole, but not in this case.

Let's trade him for 2 Colbys, the Cards would be so much better without Matt Holiday and 2 Colbys. Why not trade Wainwright since he was injured last year. We could get 2 average pitchers to replace him and spend the same amount of money. Holiday is a great player and even better teammate, ask David Freese about Matt and what he meant to him last year.

Just to respond to this since this thread popped up again, here's his OPS for 2011 against pitchers he faced 5 or more times.

The following pitchers he had a 1.000 or better OPS: Volquez, A Sanchez, Lannan, Greinke, Narveson, Wolf, Lowe, McDonald, Kuroda, W Rodriguez, Arroyo, Marcum, Loe, Vazquez, and Garza.  Out of that group, FIVE of them were Brewers... the team we were chasing the whole year.  Then you get Arroyo and Volquez who is a team that after last year, we had a little more reason to want to win.

Cueto, Cliff Lee, and Halladay have all handled him fairly well in 2011, but then again, Lee and Halladay are two of the best in the league, and Cueto had his best season ever last year.

Holliday struggled in the playoffs, but he was playing hurt, which I have trouble holding that against him.
