It's really that simple. When we drafted him, he was basically described as a raw talent/thrower, aka Jamarcus Russel Part II. But no, all you idiots kept telling me, he's good, he studyes, he's motivated, he's learning, blah blah blah. And then he has a decent run last year and, like an idiot myself, I fall for the hype and say I'm wrong. Turns out I should have stuck with my gut, because FREEMAN SUCKS. he might not be as big of a bust as jamarcus russell, but he sucks just as badly, and we will suck as long as hes our qb.
Freeman's a 23 year old kid who's still learning the pro game. It's not like Aaron Rogers who was able to sit behind one of the best ever and learn from him. Freeman has had to learn on the fly which is never consistant and this approach has ruined quite a few promising QB's before. In the next couple of years this guy is going to mature into one of the better QB's in the league. Provided that is the Bucs themselves give him the weapons he needs to be successful. They could really use some speed out of the backfield as well as some speed out of the slot receiver. Then maybe we could evalutate his progression or regression a little better. You can't evalute your QB when your receivers lead the league in dropped balls and penalties.
Drew Brees is one exampleHorrible example MMA.
big ben also had a terrible 3rd season. ben went from 18-23 his 3rd year to 32-11 his 4th seasonBig Ben also had a Super Bowl ring (although he was atrociously bad in that game) and started the year with 0 TDs and 7 INTs through his first 3 games. He went 18-16 the rest of the way which isn't good, but it's not horrible. Ben that year was plagued by bad streaks. He had that 0-7 streak his first three games then had another 2-7 streak later in the year. In those 5 games, he had 2 TDs and 14 INTs. In the other 11, he had 11 TDs and 4 INTs.
In the other 11, he had 11 TDs and 4 INTsSorry, meant 16 TDs and 4 INTs.
Drew didn't play much as a rookie, came in and played ok in his second year and regressedet in his third year. San Diego went and responded and drafted Phillip Rivers to take the job from Brees. SD had all the intention of Rivers being the guy but Brees beat him out and had two really really good seasons. At the end of his second great season, he suffered a horrific shoulder injury in the pro-bowl. A lot of people thought he might even retire because he basically had to get the whole thing built back it got hurt so badly.
That's when San Diego let him walk, as would every single team that had a 1st round pick waiting in the wings. Even if Brees was under contract and they didn't have Rivers, they probably would've drafted a QB and cut Brees. His injury was that bad.

In 38 starts, Josh has thrown an INT in 20 of them. Ironically enough, Josh has 21 career losses in those 38 starts. Let's compare numbers in first 38 starts.
So, let's review.
- Josh (17-21), 48 TDs, 44 INTs, 3 rush TDs, 8 lost fumblesll
- Big Ben (27-11), 49 TDs, 40 INTs, 6 Rush TD, 5 lost fumbles
Ben has 10 more wins, 4 more TDs, and 7 less turnovers through his first 38 starts.
Oh, Ben also had a Super Bowl Ring. Ben was draft 6 spots higher than josh was. Ben changed the culture. What's Josh done?
