Seemed like a good time to update this thread. I was gunna make a Free Agent thread of my own, but since this is already here.... anyway, Seattle signed the first of its own free agents. Breno Giacomini signed a two year contract extension to stay with the Hawks.
Good signing. He proved to be a valuable member of the Oline, stepping in for injured James Carpenter. I wouldn't be surprised if the team gives him another crack at earning the starting role. It's not one of the big names we're all keeping track of, but I did have him listed as one of my priority signings, so Im glad to see this got done. One less player to worry about.
Lynch and Bryant are must signings. They are the leaders of the offense and defense respectively.
I would sign Lynch to a short term contract max 3 years. His style of running is very punishing but it will shorten his career.
Bryant is the single reason why our rush defense is so good. Add a speed rusher and we will really have some fun. How about Mario Williams?
Of course that is not going to happen. Houston will lose him but we need a franchise qb too much and that will be the big spending for this team this offseason.
The rest of the free agents are not must although we want some or most of them back they will not kill us to lose them.
PS it is an exciting time to be a fan as I believe we are on the verge of a long quality run of playoffs appearances and our first elusive superbowl.
Lynch had a good second half of the season last year because of the veteran line that replaced our injured rookies. Lynch and TJ are about even in my book of worth, nothing special.Lynch didn't just have a "good" second half, he was probably the best runningback in the NFL during the 2nd half of the season.
