What cha say now homers/fanatics

The goal is to win games. So what about DeMarcus Ware huh? His stats are huge, but how many times do those huge stats actually impact games for the Cowboys? I believe Warren Sapp was right when he said Ware couldnt lead an army of ants to a picnic. The defense sucks, yet he is the face of the defense.
Not to bang on Romo as he was our only hope of winning ne thing this year, but doesn't this also apply to him?

Don't you just love the idiots harping on Witten? The dude will be the best Cowboys TE of ALLTIME and probably a hall of famer and these dudes want to get rid of him because he doesn't "fight for extra yards"

HAAAHAAAAHAHAHAHAHA!!

You guys really know alot about football! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Embarrassing, ain't it? Can't believe that nitwit Blu-Tool actually calls himself a Dallas fan. Pretty obvious he's not and he's just trolling to tweak real fans.

Yeah, get rid of Witten, Romo and Austin. Gut your offense.

Get rid of Doug Free, who we just signed to a 4-year deal in August 2011.

Cut Gerald Sensabaugh, who just signed a 5-year deal in December.

But this is the rampant idiocy of Blu-Tool:

He plays Madden, and thinks it translates over to real life.

He wants to gut the entire offense by jettisoning a good starting NFL QB, a good starting RT, and a future Hall-of-Famer at TE.

He wants to cut players who just signed long-term deals, effectively criplling our cap.

He wanted to trade every draft pick in 2011 and 2012 just to land two players (Cam Newton and Julio Jones).

It is embarrassing, Axe!

Blu is just out of touch with reality. The reality is that Romo, Austin, and Witten are here to stay.

Now, to address this team's needs:

1. Use the ENTIRE DRAFT on Defense! That is where we stink...We need 2 CB's to replace Tnew and Alan Ball.

We need a 350 lb NT so we can move Ratliff to DE...We need an OLB to replace Spencer (someone who can rush

the passer). Finally, another Safety since it seems that we are letting Elam walk (though I'd like to see him stay)

2. If we have any money in FA, resign Dockery and Fiammetta and try and find a solid G/C

3. Flip Free and Tyron Smith.

If we are able to find 2-3 defensive starters and our O-line improves, we will compete for the division next year.

I do not have doubt Witten will rank among the best TE the Cowboys ever had and will probably be a HFer. But outside of the one play where he took it to the house with his helmet off, well he is way easy to take down. 99% of the time I could tackle him since that play. After him I would have to say Jay Novacek was at least as good if not better. Why? He did real well maybe overshadowed by Irving, Harper and of course the great Emmitt Smith. He certainly wasn't the go to guy for Aikman as Witten has been for Romo. So methinks Novacek was better in that scenario.

Witten is already the best TE the Cowboys have ever had, and it's not even close! So what if he gets tackled when he catches the ball? i realize everyone wants rob Gronk and Jimmy Graham, who doesn't? Witten is still a geat TE and moves the chains with key 3rd down receptions. In a "down" year he caught 79 balls. He has done far and away more than any TE is the history of the Cowboys and his career isn't even over yet!

I just don't get the clowns who complain about Witten. Among TEs in 2011:

 • 5th in receptions
 • 3rd in receiving yards
 • 4th in 1st down receptions
 • Tie for 3rd in 20+ yard receptions
 • Tie for 2nd in 40+ yard receptions
 • Top 10 in yards per catch (ahead of Vernon Davis, Aaron Hernandez, and Tony Gonzalez)

When he finally hangs 'em up and we're sifting through the Eric Bjornsons and David LaFluers of the world trying to find our next great TE, some folks here will be wailing the blues.

AS usual you homers/fantiacs missed the point. I never said Witten wouldn't be the best TE the Cowboys ever had. I just mentioned the fact that Novacek was not affored the same benifits Witten has. Otherwise he may or may have not been the best TE the cowboys ever had.

Tony Romo is one of those "over paid" under achievers. His post season record says so.

Ok, so by that logic Matt Ryan and Josh Freeman need to go too. Right? RIGHT?

Novacek was not afforded the same things as Witten?!? Are you kidding me? Novacek had Emmitt and one of the best offensive lines in the league for several years!!! He also had a HOF QB and WR. It boggles my mind how you guys think. Novacek was a very good TE. Witten is a GREAT TE!!! Huge difference.

You guys argue that Witten is so easy to bring down or that he is too slow. While that may be true, he has been in the top 5 in receptions and yards for how many years now, 6...7???

Wow is all I can say...

On top of everything else he's done, Jason Witten has missed a grand total of ONE game in his 9 year career with the Cowboys, and that was his rookie season. There's probably one one other TE in the league that has that type of record and that's Tony Gonzalez. To get the production and durability that Witten brings to the Cowboys and just want to throw it away for some dude who "stretches the field" is beyond ridiculous. How about we go after Antonio Gates so he can injure his chronic foot again like he has for the past 2 years. It's definitely an upgrade through, even if we won't have him late in the season because of injuries.
