Who knows, Ben never was the biggest or strongest, he just played hard and consistant every down. Maybe the next guy in can pack more of a punch for Friend's downhill blocking scheme.
I like the depth we will have next year and everyone should be playing more of a natural position next year also. Theus, Chest Brown, and Mark Beard can help out immediately, not to mention last years OT's like Dantzler, Ward, and Debell will provide the depth.
The o-line shouldn't wear out as quickly as last year and anyone will help more in pass protection than Bean.
Returning Burnette, Gates, and Lee helps greatly.
I see something like this next year.
LT - Theus LG - Lee or Gates C - Lee or Andrews RG - Burnette RT - Dantzler
I'm not so sure we aren't done recruiting anymore OL either so Richt could still get another big signing or two before the class is done.
Lets not forget about big Arthur Lynch taking over at TE next year. He will do much better than Orson when it comes to either run or pass blocking.
Since Bobo couldn't get Orson into the pass game consistantly last year, i'm optimistic about the impact Lynch will have for our run game and pass protection.
I think Arthur Lynch and Jay Rome could be great TE's for us. Arthur can take a hit and gain yards after contact. One year at G-Day he took a hit that stood him up and then rumbled in for the TD.
Jay Rome has fantastic size and is very mobile. Can't wait to see him at this years G-Day as well!
