Lookie for a little roto style help. Anyone?

January 5, 2012 7:00 pm

I just inherited this team a week and 1/2 ago and seem to be laboring around 4th, 5th place. Should I panic? Any major adjustments I need to make. Am I over reacting, I know it has early? Has it evened up at all?

Chuck Hayes, Sac PF, C
Stephen Curry, GS PG, SG
Josh Smith, Atl PF, SF
Paul Millsap, Uta PF
Chris Kaman, Nor C
Paul George, Ind SF, SG
Dorell Wright, GS SF
Ricky Rubio, Min PG
Al Jefferson, Uta C, PF
Gerald Henderson, Cha SG SG
Wesley Matthews, Por SG, SF
D.J. Augustin, Cha PG
Marcus Camby, Por C, PF

I have a current offer of:

X trades Ricky Rubio, Min PG to O
X trades D.J. Augustin, Cha PG to O
O trades Marcin Gortat, Pho C to X
O trades Andray Blatche, Wsh PF to X
O trades Elton Brand, Phi PF to X

on the table. Is any part of this trade Good for me?

Wow.  I think the value that you are getting in return is awesome.  The only problem is that since you dealt Westbrook, this will leave you with almost 0 assists.  If you feel like you can turn around and deal some of these pieces for an elite PG, it might make sense, but it would hurt you more than it would help without more future trades to re-acquire assists.  Steph Curry may be out for an extended period of time after this latest injury.

I would roll with what you have for a couple weeks and see if your weaknesses start to improve.  Al Jefferson should make a significant impact in your rebounding and FG% categories while Henderson will help all over.

You will need Curry to stay healthy if your team is going to make a significant run.  If he can get past these ankle issues and things begin clicking for Wright and Millsap, you will be in great shape.  For now though, I would advise benching Wright until he starts showing signs of life.  It really doesn't even matter who for.

I don't think this is a good trade for you at all.  It looks like you have enough people for rebounds and shot blockers (Josh Smith, Camby, Al Jeffereson, Kaman and Millsap. Hayes and Henderson will help at these categories)  With Hayes out, it doesn't hurt your team much since you have enough big men.  With Curry out, you are losing on multiple categories (fg, 3s, pts, ast).  If you are getting rid of Auguestin and Rubio for more PF and Cs, your assists will probably be the last in your league, you will be losing a bunch of 3s and steals.  Brand and Blatche aren't doing too well so far into the season and Blatche is injured at the momemnt.  I will take Gortat since he has a good point guard to feed him, but not the other two.  This is not a good trade at all for your team.  You may consider witch Dorell Wright and Chuck Hayes with some emerging options such as Mullens, Luer for Hayes and Markieff Morris, Parson Chandler or Brandon Rush for Wright.
Good Luck!

Looks like you need some dimes, don't go ahead with the first two.
And don't bother with Brand this year, total flub in my league this year.
Gortat and Blatche would be decent if you needed points and some boards.
