JRMS/RHM-=Road to Daytona begins!

January 8, 2012 10:34 am

With the Shootout next feb18th, we begin another season and it all starts at Daytona.  Kasey Kahne joins RHS this year in the 5 car. Last year, we had 3 cars, JJ, JR, JG finish 6,7,8th; with the other 2 RH engines finishing 1st with Tony, and 10th with Newman. Five of Rick s cars in the final top 10 was a great performance.

Once again JR has "promoted" a young driver to Cop; Truex,Brad,Landon, and now Aric,"the Cuban Missile"Almirola has moved to the 43 RP Ford. We will support him and thank him for his loyal service at JRMS; he did about as best as he could, with the Roush and JG teams a step above JR s team.

Danica will run a full Nations program for JR in the Go daddy 7, teaming with the new young JR hire, Cole Whitt,20, who finished 9th in the 60 Chev truck11.  Dani will also drive 10 races for Tony in Cup in the no 10 RH powered Chevy. She probably will "hook-up" with Kurt at Day and Dega.

We also have Kurt in the 51 RH engine program; but i will not support any efforts on his part.  He probably will be Dani s dance partner on the drafting tracks.

It was great to hear the failure of the elect Volt Obama car; 7,000 only sold and all must be called in for more battery support;which i have pointed out to many friends of its dangers 4-5 years back.  Its 40K, with a folish taxpayer 7500 rebate; if i wanted another  car loan, i can buy a fully loaded Chev or F350 at 30K.

I will be at the local Caucus here on Feb 6th, as a speaker for the last Conservative standing, Rick Santorum. With a 3 min limit, it will be diff for loud Gemini mouth as myself!!  If im forced to in Nov, ill hold my nose and vote for Mitt.

our Caucus is on the 4th feb; im now becoming un-near-sighted now!! have to hold the paper and mags about 12-18 inches out now,lol geez this getting old is no fun friends!

CBS latest poll national; Mitt 19,  Newt 15, Rick 14, Paul 10.      The lib Boston Globe has nh on tues;  Mitt 40,  Paul 20, Rick and Huntsman 10,  newt 8.  Rassmussen, a better poll and predicted the final 6 pt Obama win 08, has  NH Mitt 42, Paul 18, Rick 13, Huntsman 12 on the 6th.  SC  shows Rick has closed gap; Romney 27, Rick 24, Newt 18. The early 6 states were penalized half of their delegates, so we wont know clear choices until super tuesday.

on tonights BCS game; the total of 40 is low, in this type of a game. Though they played a boring terrible all fg game, 9-6 LSU earlier, it has to be a better game and with TO s, thus a higher score. I think Vegas has the right side favored, Bama -3.

Tebow, probably the worse NFL qb, with passing skills and reads, beat the inj Ben and  MIA 9/11 truther Mendallhall, and with TO s easily put the game over the 34 total for my Grant bet.  Since i have to leave by 530pm, ill listen to 2nd half  on car radio.

USC I am ready for Daytona!  How about Barkely returning for sr season?  Should make your team a Pac 10 contender!  My Vols will still be terrible after the decission to keep Dooley.  Dooley should have been fired after the humiliating loss to Kentucky.  Anyway back to racing, I dont know very much about Cole Whitt, so I wil be learning about him as I watch.

Heh Knox!!  your a good and loyal Vol, thats what matters.  Vols gave Ky all they could handle today i seen.  Yea, i also was surprized he stood in that kids wanting to wd and go back home to play near his ill dad. Dooley did relent finally. Anytime a kid wants out, you have to let him go; they just wont play well if remains on team. It was a great bowl season for myself; all 3 rivals lost,Ucla,ND,Stanford.

I had 49ers,no2 sons fav team out in Calif from Montana days, and had NE vs the worse qb in NFL history,Tebow. Elway will get a qb, this guy is a nice kid and a decent fb type runer, but he cannot throw a football to save his life. I mean, Billy Kilmer throw lobs and rarely a spiral also, but at least he completed 50pct and some tds and looked like a qb,lol. about 3-4 weeks ago in SI, they had a long article of KIff and i learned much about him, esp what he was attempting to do vs the LSU, and Bama s. He had permission to go after them and stirr the pot, that wa s his plan and he had it working. The played both rivals hard and almost beat them, after getting blown out by 20-35 previous year. I think if you get an OC,who knows how to ballance and throw a diff slant at the opps, you will have success. Probably need a diff coach, if it dont improve this year.

This Whitt is a good hard driver from accounts and he takes care of equipment also. Last year JR wanted to prove he had a top 10 team; which ,in fact, it was that all year, and ended 7th. This season is Latarte s do or die. He seemed to clic at the right time after that 4-5 race fiasco. But, this season he and JR have to show wins. They have proved they can compete with anyone, now , they must take a few more chances like the rest of these drivers who get the wins. Chase is fine, but the 4 year mon win streak must end before summer. JG was unhappy with Steve s changes/setups, but this year he probably was about "on" about 25 of the 36 races; that is not good enough to win. It was only the smart and hard driving from JR which kept the car in the top 7. were only about 4 weeks away from some serious racing again. Have to get caught up here on outside work/get the fields plowed for some food, lol.
Have Balt and  GB sunday.

some info id pass to you Knox, is to always keep a game plan for you and family. when in my 30 s i never thought about this medicare crap, i mostly wated to end it,lol. now, i got this dam- letter 3 months ahead, to signup or not. Now, id rather want my Veterans(i used it for comp checkup 6 years ago and paid prorated,as a nam vet. I rem Paul once saying, that which i loathed in now upon my door!  lol   If you make one extra mortg pmy a year, you knock about 6-7 years off a 22-30 year deal. I have 6 left from a 15, im doubling up for 2 years and end my debt owed!  I follow Dave Ramsay s strategies, and i highly reccommend him.  anyways, enough preaching; now ,i just still need to drop 20lbs,lol.

news now on David Rahan below;  have to head out

David Ragan's long saga of trying to find a ride for the 2012 NASCAR season is over.

The former Roush Fenway Racing driver will join Front Row Motorsports for the coming Sprint Cup Series campaign and remain in the Ford camp after all.

Ragan was rumored to be in line for seats at Penske Racing and Richard Petty Motorsports after he was forced out of RFR when sponsor UPS pulled out its full-time backing.

Those rides didn't pan out and Ragan finally landed at the upstart Front Row organization.

Ragan will pilot the team's No. 34 Ford and team up with returning David Gilliland in the two car effort.

"Front Row has made great progress in the last few years, and I look forward to helping them advance to the next level," Ragan said.  "I think the team appreciates what I can bring to the table, and I think it's a good opportunity for both of us.  I've also enjoyed a long relationship with Ford and I'm glad that I'll get to keep working with them."

Gilliland returns for his third season with Front Row and his seventh in the Cup series.  The 35-year-old Riverside, Calif., native will return to the No. 38, the number he drove as a Sprint Cup rookie as well as the car he drove in his first season with Front Row.  The No. 38 team is also locked in to the field entering 2012.  Last season, Gilliland raced his way to a third-place finish in the Daytona 500 to start off an impressive 2011 run, in which he proved to be a force on superspeedways and road courses.

"We've gotten better year to year and even week to week in the time I've been with Front Row, so I'm excited to be back for a third year and to have David (Ragan) as a teammate," Gilliland said.  "It's good to be back in the '38' car, too.  It was my dad's number, and I've also had some pretty good days at the racetrack with that number on the door."

"I am committed to building a competitive race team by employing the same fundamental business principles that have worked for my other successful endeavors, and it all begins with the people," said team owner Bob Jenkins.  "We took some pretty big steps in our race program last year and adding David Ragan is another giant step in the right direction.

"When you look at some of the large, storied teams in NASCAR that have been running for decades, we're still pretty young by comparison," Jenkins continued. "But I like the upgrades we're making and the improvements we're seeing, and I am confident we will be able to compete with them on a consistent basis in the not-too-distant future.  Ragan is a proven competitor and race winner, Gilliland had a really solid season for us last year, Roush Yates engines are the best in the sport, and Ford continues to provide invaluable support, so I feel like 2012 is really going to be our year to step up to the next level.  Plus, I now have two Davids to engage Goliath, and we know how that day ended."

Sponsorship for the Front Row Motorsports entries is being finalized and will be announced soon.

"We've worked hard to build an organization that can deliver compelling value propositions for our partners, and we can win immediately on that front given our size, efficiencies and cost structures," said Jerry Freeze, Front Row Motorsports' General Manager. "Fortunately, a few leading corporate partners have taken notice and others are conducting their due diligence.  That's very encouraging and bodes well for our future.

and the BB season gets worse, Dedmon is out, leaving 6 schorlaship players left; i am laying the 10 points vs Utah tonight. It maybe the last chance to win!!

USC sophomore center Dewayne Dedmon will likely miss the rest of the season with an MCL tear in his left knee suffered during the first half of Thursday night's loss to Colorado.  The injury does not require surgery, so the seven-footer will begin a rest and rehabilitation program immediately.

He is the latest casualty in a season marred by critical injuries starting with PG Jio Fontan tearing an ACL in the preseason.  F Aaron Fuller (shoulder), F Evan Smith (shoulder) and C Curtis Washington (shoulder) have also been lost for the season.

Dedmon injured his knee last night when a Colorado player fell on his left leg, which forced the knee to hyperextend.  He also bruised his tibial bone.

The Trojans are down to six scholarship players and only two big men.  They host Utah on Saturday night at 8 p.m. at Galen Center.
