Tigger, tigger, tigger, always trying to cloud things up with facts.

TigerDogger, I like all your stats, as I am a man that utilizes them to support my arguments, but, there is 1 really big thing that these stats do not show, that is quite relevent to this thread, and that is 'Talent' disaparity, between Cal and Pastners first 2 seasons.
I mean, I know every Memphis fan will say 'Cal, stole all of their recruits' (Cousins was the only one signed), but Memphis, had a decent stable still there, especially for Conference-USA's sake. Plus Pastner, signed a pretty good class that post-season, and he signed another one, that is playing this season. So Dogger, what is holding him back right now? Pastner, has easily had more talent in each of his first 3 season, then Cal had there.
Food for thought.
Memphis, had a decent stable still there, especially for Conference-USA's sake.I thought you liked facts, Cat. That statement is not only untrue, it's completely ludicrous.
Basically, Cal, made it cool, and made Memphis a name in the minds of college basketball recruits. This is great for Pastner, for it has allowed Memphis to keep a relative cap on local talent. Cal, did the hardwork of making Memphis popular again, and Pastner has been able to utilize that.
Pastner, has a great youthful exuberance, that will keep Memphis going, but, he needs to start getting the results against the big boys. It will be interesting to see how he grows.
Cal inherited a much more complete team than Pastner's tiny collection.
Cal, inherited a team that went (16-15) the year before, and who were consistent 10+ loss teams on a yearly basis. So, he might of aquired a more "complete team", but, to what degree? The caliber of players on those teams were nowhere near the level of talent, Memphis has been able to attract since Cal was there.
Who wanted to come play for Memphis, before Cal did what he did? All I have to do is look at the records of the previous staff.
Again, Cat, where are your so called facts?
8 of your 16 players are from Memphis! This includes Tarik Black, Chris Crawford, Joe Jackson, Adonis Thomas, etc. Do those players ever play? Can you name another school that has 50% of their players from 1 city?
If you want to talk trash, get your facts straight first.
Where am I talking trash, Greg? I have reread all of my post, and I do not see one ounce of trash talking. All I am discussing is expectations, and the original poster's comments. I do not think I started this thread. Did I?
Who wanted to come play for Memphis, before Cal did what he did? All I have to do is look at the records of the previous staff. Is that all tou've got for "facts", Cat?
Is that all tou've got for "facts", Cat?
Just more saint cal drivel about how he "saved" Memphis?
Greg, what are you talking about? I did not start a thread that was comparing Pastner to Calipari! Yes, I am going to read the post and address it accordingly (agree or not). Where have I not used logic and reasoning in my arguments?
Maybe you should just stick to your Kentucky threads. Those Cats just eat up your myths.
What myths? Cal, did great things at Memphis, and is contiuing to do them at UK, with new teams every year. He has been to an Elite-8, a Final-4, and has beaten many elite team during his tenure. He has backed up everything, with actual performances.

it took cal 5 yrs to make the ncaa tournament
Halo, Cal, made his first NCAA appearence with Memphis, during the 02-03 season. If I am not mistaken, that is his 3rd year as Head Coach of the Tigers. So, I guess you are a bit off there?
