Remember, aside from his playoff woesBeen down that road before.
id rather be 11-5 and losing inthe playoffs then 4-12 and losing ten straight. just sayin.Gruden era >>> Dungy era.
Tampa fans are like San Diego fans - fairweather frontrunners.Haha! Well put.
I like Brian Billick, great defensive coach but if you remember his Baltimore days he was a defensive genius but ultra conservative on offense. Then again all he ever had was Kyle Boller and the last of Trent Dilfer.Billick is an offense guy. I actually think he worked with Brad Johnson in Minnesota. He never developed a QB in Baltimore. I'm not interested.
Read that Mike Zimmer interviewed yesterday, Chudzinsky is interviewing today and they are in talks with the Packers to interview their offensive coordinator Joe Philbin and their QB coach Tom Clements. They are obviously seeing in to every possibility and exploring all options. Of the guys listed I think I like Chudzinsky best, not big on any of the Packers. Mike McCarthy calls and makes all final offensive decisions in Green Bay. How much credit is really Philbin's or Clements? Don't think I would want to go that route. So far I have them ranked:
Chudzinsky
Marty Schottenheimer
Mike Zimmer
Beyond that it doesn't matter anymore.
I'm not sold on Chudzinsky. He has only been an OC for three years, he has never been to the playoffs with those teams. His first year in Cleveland was pretty good, just as it was in Charlotte. But the following year in Cleveland pretty much sucked. Will the same happen in Charlotte? I know he's getting a lot of credit for Cam Newton, but not being there "behind the scenes" I don't know how much is do to Chud and how much is just the raw talent of the kid.
And while he has more OC experience than Raheem did DC experience, I'm thinking I'd be more comfortable with an established coach, preferably a disciplinarian.
