When I found this message board a couple years ago, this is what I was looking for. A bunch of common sense thoughts about OUR favorite team. some different opinions, but no bashing of each other for it. i live in PA and hear enough Cowboys bashing year round. I found this board and thought it would be a great place to hear great talk about the Cowboys without all the over the top negativity. Best thread I've read in awhile! Go Cowboys!
Well I'm stickin' to my opinion,..........they're never going to make any "realistic", changes. In my opinion Jerry Jones paid the wrong people who turn out NOT to be the game changers and players we need to do more than stumble/back into playoffs if we make it all. I'm sorry but you know who they are and until he gets rid of them, he won't be rid of that mentality and as long as that mentality is there, it doesn't matter who you bring in, we'll always stumble into the picture and then be gone just as fast.
His first mistake was letting Parcels stock the team with junk/mediocre players, who couldn't make it anymore on the team they were on and were looking for a job. Look back at who Parcels brought in. ALL the players he brought in were done on their other teams,.......nobody wanted them anymore because they couldn't get the job done so what purpose did it serve to bring them in here? We would've been better served starting from scratch with brand new players, letting them all jell/grow/mature/learn together,........Since Parcels was here, the team is still 1-2 in the post season so what is the worst that could've happened by bringing in new fresh talent?
We were supposed to have "cleaned house" last off season remember? So how come there was no improvement? Because he didn't really clean house like he said and he's not going to do it this time. The salary cap says so. He's only going to get rid of and bring in who he can afford to and no one beyond that, which means until those players that need to go who are now commanding a lot of the salary cap are gone, nothing much will change. He'll let go of some players, and replace them with equal value players,..........so how do you figure that will change anything? I just don't think it will. I thought at the beginning of the season this was a 11-5 team,.........but the mentality of certain key figure players killed this teams ability to be that team starting with the Jets game, continuiing through the Lions game and then throughout the season. Realistically Jerry won't change enough of whats wrong. It starts with the GM spot in case you're wondering,.......that's the first realistic place change needs to be made,........and he already told you what he thought of that idea,......so I wouldn't then get my hopes up for any other realistic major changes other than the ones you should already see coming.
I really do not see that the team is in danger os losing a key play besides the possibility of Robinson so who ever falls off the books, it seems that Dallas has the based covered. Players like Ball, Bennett, Brooking, Elam, James, Kitna, McBriar, Spencer may see the plank and that's almost 20 mill that hit the cap last season.
I thought McBriar would def. be back but drop foot is a serious issue, I just read, and he will most likely never play again. Sucks
Hopefully, these positions will be upgraded and the coaches should be an upgrade.
It's ever so small of a feeling yet I feel that if only Murray and Felix can stay healthy with Tanner hitting the one yarders, that alone will be the hump breaker.
blogging d boys - editors opinion that I took with the assumption there is truth to drop foot
Mat McBriar P. His drop foot came at a horrible time for him personally, because everything I have seen indicates that you often never really recover from it. Part of the problem is that it is usually a symptom of other diseases, and the list of possible causes is scary, including ALS (Lou Gherig's disease), multiple dystrophy, and multiple sclerosis.
Me too. His skills are not measured like receptions or yards but his ability to pin our opponents back are a gift that we take for granted. I hope your right Axe bc he has always been consistant with what he does best.
WE GETTING OLD...WITTEN, ROMO, WARE, NEWMAN, ECT ECT ...WE HAVE NEEDS AT DL OL DB AND LB ...WE HAVE JASON AS OUR HC AND JERRY AS THE GM....WE ALL BETTER GET USED TO LOSING CAUSE ITS GONNA GET WORST BEFORE IT GETS BETTER! JERRY HIT THE ROAD !!!
