LOCK THREAD CONCEPT -

This thread has been created for all of us to share our expertise with everyone else to benefit the group.

THIS IS NOT A PICKING CONTEST!

PLEASE make special note of this!!! If you have an area of expertise - Pac-10, NBA, Soccer, MLB, Big East, NHL, etc. - please make some LOCK choices from your area of expertise when you have a game you are confident enough in to call it a "LOCK". The difference between a PICK and a LOCK is that a PICK is a game you like, a LOCK is a game that you KNOW. We are here to help each other win. If you are claiming your choice is a LOCK, and you really have NO true knowledge of that game, then you are just cheating us and posting your PICK just for attention and to see your name on the board.

RULES FOR POSTING -

We take it upon ourselves to donate our time and track everybody's LOCK every day, as long as you agree to do your part by doing a few simple things. We will not track your LOCKs if you do not follow these rules. You are welcome to still post your PICK or card, but unless you do the things below, we won't be putting your LOCK on the spreadsheet.

- Post only 1 LOCK per day.  You may post a MAXIMUM of 4 LOCKS per week.  A week starts on Monday, and ends on Sunday.  Choose NCAA, NBA, NFL, or NHL.  You do not have to stay in one sport.  Spread them around if you like.

- No "buying" points for LOCKS.

- First half or mini lines are OK.  No second half or quarter lines.  We want the LOCKS posted early enough so we can all benefit .  Time constraints make second half lines too tough to track.

- No other "line-manipulations: like teasers, etc.

- No parlays.

- No props (unless you give a site where we can check the line).

- Hockey, baseball, and soccer plays need to be -129 or better.  No HUGE favorites for LOCKS.  Anything -130 and over, take the -1.5 goals or runs if you feel like it is still a LOCK.

- Do not try to cheat on lines. We, as a group, are all over the lines and every time someone gives a stinky spread, it is always called out. If the line is off, the LOCK doesn't go into the spreadsheet.

- LOCKs MUST be posted 30 minutes before the time CBS says the game is set to go off, anything less than 30 minutes the LOCK will not count.

And, THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE!

You must give an original explanation as to why you KNOW this LOCK will win. And don't just "stat" us to death. Tell us about the game. And if you are going to try and fool us by cutting and pasting from another website, at least figure out how to remove all the HTML and other garbage. People on this thread are all over the internet and will find your plagiarism. I guarantee it. You can use Last 10, ATS, etc., numbers to support your argument, but stats from a gambling website are not an explanation. They are stats that any of us can get anywhere on the internet. Also, how about if you have actually SEEN the team play that you pick. I'd say that if you haven't seen a team play at least a few times, you can't really be an expert on the said team.

LOCK PURDUE -2.5.......Purdue is 10-1 SU and 9-2 ATS at home vs Wis since 1997. As i posted on sunday reguarding, fade them vs all the big dogs in the conf(MSU OSU PUR MICH). I have Puedue winning this game by 8. Wis has a horrible inside game this year which makes their shot selection bad. First they pass the ball around the perimeter then they get it down low and the guy either takes a bad shot or kicks it out to the 3 point line with the shot clock running down and they jackup a 3. And this team is not hitting 3's like they did in the past nor can they shoot freethrows very good either. This is the worst Badger team since Stu Jackson and Brd Soderberg coached them in the 90's.

Just wanted to mention a few things because I was tracking yesterday. If you are posting LOCKS after the cutoff time, they won't get tracked. If you post a LOCK without a write up, it's not making it on the spreadsheet. If you post a LOCK with an atrocious one sentence write up, it's not getting tracked moving forward.
A few got wiped of the board yesterday becuase one of the above happened, and a couple of more were boarderline but let slide.

Don;t forget the reason why we are posting LOCKS. If you feel it's a LOCK, you should be able to rattle off a short paragraph as to why it's a LOCK. If you are posting LOCKs with a half hearted write up, you are not doing us any good. Sell the board why the LOCK is a LOCK, and if the game plays out that way then your credibility skyrockets.

WM&MARY -4 1/2 is a WINNER! 66-49 final. W&M wasted the first 5 minutes of the game going down 6-0 before they scored a basket but the end result was as it should be. 21-8 now on CBB posted plays. That's wonderful! More $$$.

Today I saw that Raven Guru returned after a long  break. That's great. Any info we get here that helps us is welcomed. I also see that he came back boasting that a win would put him at 25-7 in the last 2 weeks and give him an 11-1 run on top plays. Long story short you can believe whatever you want and I assume Raven can point us to another site that will verify his recent record but I have to wonder why someone would return here and share a record of non-posted plays and I also wonder after all this time why you you return AFTER....AFTER....you have such a run to try to impress us. It would have been nice to have been included in that run before this point.  I love the fact that so many couldn't wait to welcome him back. If you are REAL id's then that is your choice and more power to you. I have trouble forgetting who Raven really is. No better than anyone else here but in love with himself and anxious to tell everyone how great he is.

We were on the right track here trying to help each other beat the books but if if you want this place to revert to the hero-worship that existed here before. GOOD LUCK to you all.

What he did say is; This game comes at a bad time for us. Napoli after this won't play till Monday, and they can play their starters, while our next game is on Sunday, and that gives us little time to get our legs back. For this reason I had to bring up players from the under 18. Of course these things shoudn't throw us off for Thursday,but it is normal that our heads will be focused on Sundays game against Novara.
Napoli is toward the top end of the table in Serie A while Cesena need all 3 points on Sunday in a game against Novara, who they are tied with at the bottom of the table. Sundays game is a 6 pointer, and the Cesena coach has to do the right thing and that is sit most of his starters. Napoli have a good list to choose from : Rosati, Colombo, Aronica, Britos, Cannavaro, Fernandez, Fideleff, Grava, Donadel, Dossena, Dzemaili, Inler, Maggio, Zuniga, Cavani, Chavez, Hamsik, Pandev, Vargas.
Now I can't tell you who will start,actually I know that newly signed EDU Vargas will start from the 1st minute. He is a 22 year old from Chile that scored 17 goals with Universidad and he will be eager to show Napoli fans what he has.From the list of those forwards I'll take any of them Head to head reads 6 wins for Napoli with 4 draws and with a lot of youngsters on the Cesena side IMO we get a blowout. 4-0 Napoli!

City could be missing key players today in Balotelli,Dzeko and Silva and also without banned Kompany . Man city has too much going on and need to focus on certain silverware. IMO this isn't one of them.

A win for Spurs tonight draws them level with Man Utd for 2nd place in the Premiership, while Everton sit in the middle of the table.
The recent games between the two sides have been fairly close, with both Spurs and Everton winning 2-1 & two games drawn in the last 4 match ups and the game prior to that in the League Cup, Spurs came out winners by 2-0.
Everton have plenty of injury worries for todayss game and will try to park the bus. Spurs have won 4 of their last 5 at home, the other being a 1-1 draw against Chelsea. This should result in a home win for Spurs but the result is likely to be a low scoring game and its a close call between a 1-0 or 2-0 win for Spurs. With all 4 of their top scorers in action today for Spurs and the fact that Everton against the better teams( Man U Man C Arsenal Chelsea Liverpool) have only scored 1, will go for the 2-0 result.
Birmingham plays well at home only conceding 5 and have scored a few. Ipswich is a little reckless on the road and can't just sit back as they are dropping in the table. Birmingham have no Europa to worry about and have a couple of games in hand. They win those and they are in playoff contention. I think we get a good game here 2-1 Birmingham.



Yesterday was another great day,but I'm kicking my arse for not playing Liverpool money line and calling the Tottenham correct score and not playing it ! Hitting the Birmingham correct score and over in injury time was crazy good ! Good luck today peeps !

I still can't belive that my EMich/CMich game didn't stay unter the total after the 44 point first half but I guess that's what happens sometimes. I will try and get back on later with my card.

It's really a shame people like Redmark have to be jealous haters.  I have my own sports information service with over 15 paying clients that I have built over the last 2 years.  I stay away from CBS because it has no value to me whatsoever, I come back to share a pick I like and am immediately attacked and ridiculed.  This is absurd I have done nothing but contribute to the lock thread and ran it for over 6 months.  To be gone for almost one year and come back to ignorant jealous rants is the exact reason this thread has zero value and I stayed away.  Congrats redmark because this is the last mediocore write up you will ever see from this 50-50 handicapper.  I hope you and your sandbox are happy together.

New York Giants cornerback Aaron Ross passed a battery of tests for a  head injury and returned to practice on Wednesday. The same can not be  said for Giants running back D.J. Ware, who has dealt with concussions  in the past. He has not been cleared to practice and may sit out  Sunday's playoff game against the defending champion Green Bay Packers.  Both Ross and Ware suffered concussions during last Sunday's 24-2  victory over the Atlanta Falcons at MetLife Stadium. The 20th overall  pick of the 2007 draft, Ross had 60 tackles and four interceptions in 16  games this season. The Giants are 7.5-point underdogs at Green Bay.

Montreal Canadiens captain Brian Gionta will be sidelined indefinitely  after undergoing surgery to repair a right biceps muscle. Gionta was  hurt in the third period of Tuesday's game against St. Louis. It was  only his second game back after missing a month with a groin injury. The  surgery was performed Wednesday in Montreal and the team called the  procedure a success. Gionta, who will turn 33 next week, has eight goals  and seven assists in 31 games this season. He had played in 153  consecutive games before suffering a groin injury on Dec. 8 against  Vancouver.
