Outlook for 2012

January 14, 2012 12:30 pm

Okay, our team boards have died.  I think in large part by idots that show up to just irritate.  Its not even fun posting on here when you know when a moronic hater is going to take something you said and manipulate it into something not even recognizeable to what you were trying to say.  But here goes.  I hope to see good coversation going but I'm not going to get my hopes up since the posting on here fell off a cliff.

If you are a KSU hater, you are welcome to post on this thread.  I would appreciate it if it could remain a reasonable mature post and you can disagree with anything I have to say if you want, just check the namecalling at the door.  I have no problem debating with someone whom does not agree with me, but the childish behavior needs to stop.

That said, I'm going to copy/paste my post that I put on the main cfb board to see if hopefully we can get some good discussion going about next season on the KSU team page.

I stated I think the team has an opportunity to go 11-1, but I'll say with the question marks remaining on the schedule and where we will be playing West Virginia and TCU, if we are playing WV, that I think 10-2 is a reasonable mark for this team to aim for

Outlook for 2012

January 14, 2012 12:31 pm

My Cats this year over-achieved.  With a little bit of luck, a little bit of magic, a lot of passion plus a coach that has a knack for getting everyone on the same page and bonded together like a natural family.  Bill Snyder always seems to get the best out of the talent he has to work with.

10-3 this year for a team picked to finish 8th in the big 12 is nothing to cry about for sure.  Would have liked to have seen a better offensive showing in the Cotton Bowl, but the better team won.  I give props to the Wildcat defense that really stepped up and did an excellent job of keeping the game within reach, but credit the Razorbacks for playing even better defense than the Cats did.

This year began with only a couple of names that anyone outside of Wildcat faithful had even heard of before.  They were the Brown brothers.  Arthur, turned out to be the backbone and vocal leader of a defense that in one season improved from 119th to 39th.  Quite a jump IMO especially for a team playing in such an offense based conference.  Bryce, however had zero motivation and left the program after the second game after a whopping 3 carries, when most KSU fans thought most of our offense was going to end up being ran through his shoulders at tailback.

2012 version- This team isn't losing a lot of starters on either side of the ball, but the scary part is out of the 3 lost going in, 2 of them are OT's and one an OG.  So they will need a couple to step up big and help make holes for Klein and hubert, and keep Klein off his back in the backfield.

Defensively we lose 5 starters, three of those holes will be filled by current regular contributors.

Our schedule is favorable, and with Klein returning with experience, and hopefully a re-tooled passing motion that will help him keep defenses a little bit more on their heels and guessing would help this team tremendously.

I can see this team only losing to OU on the road.  The biggest question mark to me is TCU.  I don't know yet where that game is going to be played which will possibly make a difference, I know they will have several gaps to fill on the O-line but return an excellent QB.

I see this team as long as they can hold onto some of the 2011 magic winning 10 games again for sure, but I think 11-1 regular season record is quite possible

Quite possibly the best post I have seen from you k-nole!  And I'm not being sarcastic

It will be tough to replace Bryce's 5.3 yards per carry.

Haven't heard anything on Cosh.  I know he interviewed for Coastal carolina HC job.  Thats all the info that I know.  Other than that I think its just the same ol rumor mill of former Snyder assistants

The biggest challenge will be continuing the one-sided officiating which resulted in several questionable "wins" this past season.

Interesting.  I've heard his name mentioned so many times whenever there is a vacancy that I've become numb to it.  I was thinking there was a burnt bridge outside of the commonly known 1998 departures in there somewhere but what do I know.

Your right when it comes to the departure of 1998 and what a mess that was but I would really like Leavitt.  But my second option would be Venables and hey anything is better that Cosh.

Sorry been busy haven't been able to post since I heard about this, but Billy Cosh is enrolled at Butler Community College in Eldorado KS and is the expected starter coming into next season.  Great program, has been #2 in the nation for NJCAA football the last two seasons and has been a solid program for many years.  Pretty decent pipeline between Butler and Kansas State so maybe he'll get a couple of good years under his belt at the juco level and come back

Actually, Billy Cosh transfered to James Madison after KSU, then was buried at the #3 QB on the depth chart. Which made him decide to transfer AGAIN to Butler.
