Defensive Backfield

Saints Defensive Backfield cost them the game.  Jenkins and Harper could not cover anyone!  How do they let the 49er's score with less than 1:30 left in the game and the 49er's offense looked disorganized on the last drive!  Saints hopefully will draft a few db's who can cover!

Yeah, you know what, this is the 2nd time in the playoffs I was not impressed with Harper's coverage failures...

I thought they would cut S Roman Harper after last years loss in the playoffs against the Seahawks because he played like crap like he did today. He can't cover anyone!  Saints need to shore up the defensive because they do not want to waste all that offense!

Saints Defensive Backfield cost them the game.

Turnovers aside, you are absolutely correct.  I just hope there is no mistaking this glaring reality at the coaching level this time.

they definetly have to focus on Safety help...this was horrible...Alex has had a good season, but nothing like this.  I'd also advise against for the time being ever drafting an OHio st. player.  <br />

The Saints need to get rid of their whole defensive backfield, along with their defensive corrdinator. They suck on defense.

check my credits i been been saying get rid of Roman Horrible......! he blew us da game last year in seattle and he did it again here in San Fran if all da grey haired trick can do is sack make his punk butt a LINEBACKER we been getting away luckily but its time for a change....  Grew Williams scheme is whack.... we blitz whole game and den u play prevent when game is on the line?  we overcame 5 turnovers to take the lead and still lost.... this hurts more den the Seattle Lost becuz in both games we let the weaker team win due to stupid stupid turnovers and lack of execution by our coaching staff... but i digresss

Happy B-Day Drew Brees u still my mvp fam and im still proud of our squad and none of them should hang their heads besides Roman Harper im blaming this loss solely on him.. im sorry the mofo**** has GOTTSa Go.. he cant be in our seconday no more.....! u notice da bum Harper can tackle quarterbacks but cant tackle tightends? smh i digress again ok my rant is over with good day to u all

I don't see Harper as a problem.  The problem I see is what he is instructed to do at critical junctures in the game, and how he is coached.

I feel Harper could be a pro-bowl player with intensive pass defense fundamentals coaching.  But he isn't getting that.  In fact, it seems that none of the defensive backfield is getting that.  Heck, they can't even catch a ball when it hits them in the hands.

As for Gregg Williams, he is a gambler.  Unfortunately, he seems to throw the odds out the window a bit too often for my tastes, and usually comes out on the losing end as a result.  Playing statistical football with an occasional risk is playing smart.  If you believe that, then realize that Williams is gambling on long shots.  He isn't playing smart.

i honestly think we have good talent on this defense we just need someone who is willing to teach them how to use is.
If so our defensive line will be awsome with Will SmithShaun Rogers, Frankiln, Jordan, Romeous and co.

Jenkins, Greer, Porter, Robinson are prettty solid in the secondary they just got away from the basics since GW stopped practicing and teaching it.
Remember Malcom Jenkins wasnt a safety out of college he was a number 1 corner...it takes time to make that switch in the NFL and it doesnt help when you D cordinator isnt up to the task.
