Gone for good from our team......! yesterday had all to do with them its their fault u daggone right they are da scapegoats.. in particular Harper i hate him with a passion his footballs skills are the most overrated i ever saw for a player as non clutch as him
I actually like Harper and said a very long time ago that we should beef him up and put him at WLB cause he doesn't belong covering anybody. As for GW, he is the type of guy you either love or hate. I mean, when we stopped ATL earlier this year on 4th down and pretty much sealed the game, everybody was loving him. But against the 49ers, myself included, everyone is hating him. I don't mind the blitz but not when the game is on the line with 1:37 to go because it gives up big plays. We need to establish a way better pass rush so we don't have to blitz evey other freakin play. And we need guys in our secondary that have better ball skills. Ultimately GW is probably gone anyway.
All I have to say is good bye GW. He cost us the game not just the turn overs .The turn overs where bad enoungh but Drew brought us back for the win and the dumb ars calls stupid plays and cost us the game. GOOD BYE I hope. O GW

Harper doesn't belong at WLB. The reason why he blitzes so well is the fact that he comes from the top. Anything other than veteran quarterbacks won't recognize this and that is what makes him effective. Putting him at WLB would be dumb because quarterbacks would be expecting a blitz.
If Williams goes I hope that we get a DC that focuses on tackling first. the problem with this defence is they try to force a fumble and end up missing the tackle. As far as Roman Harper and Jenkins goes its hard to fault them for the covrage, Davis was the only WR/TE doing anything and we still single covered him, but the two Safeties have too do a better job off tackling, first Jenkins missed the tackle, took out Harper and Davis scored a TD, Next Harper takes a horrible angle and doesnt even come close to tackling Davis and he gets a 35 yard gain. Davis is faster than both Harper and Jenkins so why didn't we put a CB and a Safety on him. Did anyone else notice how many slants the 49ers ran, its bc our CBs play so far off the line. everybody is saying how great Smith is but the 49ers did their homework and knew they could run slants all day, saying that Smith made a couple of good passes that weren't slants but thats about it, 2... maybe 3 good passes.
yea they did, thats why Safeties usually arent in man to man coverage as much as those two were that game, and Vernon Davis should have been double covered.
GW leaving is probably best for al concerned, he's just not getting the production out this group of guys that he should. He seems to may the wrong calls at the wrong times. Roman Harper is a good example of a player that should spend 90 percent of his time in or near the box moving forward and never in man seldom in zone coverage. I like him for his hard hitting and good box skills so I want him to stay but utilize him to suit his skills. That might indicate less of a full time role which means some new personel. The Saints don't have a lot of free agents but they have some big signings to make with not a lot of cap space. Part time players with nice contracts may end up as cap casualties. I predict a shake up coming but hopefully to upgrade the team.
Hay Patriot fan, I know your team is the Patriots and all and you probably became a Pats fan in 2001 just like every other fake New England fan, but don't come on this board and call an idea of a fan of the team that they have watched every single game since 1991 dumb. I'm not saying move Harper to WLB cause we want to blitz him, I'm saying move him there cause he is an excellent tackler, great against the run, and physical as all hell and I've seen him lay out offensive linemen on more than one occasion. Shoot he did it the other day against the 49ers. See us Saints fans actually know about our team and actually watch the games unlike Patriot fans who probably just listen to a little WEEI radio or watch NESN AKA comcast sports net to find out what happened. Yeah I know about you phony Patriot fans, get off these boards pink hats !!!!!!!

I grew up in Louisuana, I was actually born in Slidell (you know, the city on the outskirts of New Orleans). I have always been a Saints fan but my team remains the Patriots since i was born in 95' despite many lectures and scoldings from my dad. You're right, I don't watch all the Patriots games but it is not by choice. Not all the games are broadcasted nation-wide. I'm not here to argure with any one about anything, I'm simply here to express my opinion. So I would appreciate it if you didn't take things to heart as I'm sure you have done during the "Aint's" years. My Patriots have a bleak future, Tom Brady is not getting younger and the window for another Super Bowl is closing fast. One day in the very near future, the Patriots will be in the bottom of their devision. So I will not abandon them during those dismal years just as you haven't done to the Saints.
Looks like GW is gone. Generally, I'm OK with this ... However, I do not hate him as much as everyone else seems to. After all, he helped us get our first Superbowl ring, and his defenses have definitely had some memorable games. Still, I think it's a good time to move on.
As for Roman Harper, I still think he's a great safety. He's always around the ball and has a nose for creating fumbles. Yes, he's a liability in coverage, but he's shown tremendous improvement this year and now I consider him "average" instead of "terrible" in coverage. Honestly, you can't expect a safety to be a shut-down corner.
So, he's awesome in run support and blitzing, and OK in pass coverage (and improving). That's why he's the strong safety. I can honestly say that he and Jabari Greer are my favorite defensive players.
I'd like to think that maybe we could have a different personnel package for situations like the 49ers game where we could substitute a better cover SS when we're trying to prevent a rapid scoring situation
That a 4.3 running 250-lb TE was allowed to be covered man-to-man by a chicken bone FS on so many routes, especially at the end of the game, is still mind boggling to me.
Perhaps G.W. Puroposely sabotaged the game, because he knew he was leaving. Why else would you leave V. Davis one on one all game and not fall back and keep everything in front of you with a lead and 1:47 to go?
Roman Haper is the biggest reason we lost to Seattle 2 years ago....... he blew 3 coverages and got burnt the worse on Marshaw Lynchs run......! the SF game Harper did nothing but get beat and was out of position as USUAL........ Greg Williams should not have had such a stupid scheme on defense in the end.. but its still the players who have to execute and what have u..... also i have another side not dat pissed me off..... Why play Roby at KR when he aint played all year long? Why play Adrian Arrington at the 3 reciever when he aint played all year? very very questionable decisions by Sean Payton at the wrong TIME..... im just frustrated that for 2 years in a row when i truly believe we had a great shots at winning the championship.. for da 2nd year in a row i watched 2 teams beat our who DAT squad when deep down i know we was da better team.. . ok i digress still mad though....
I don't blame Roman Harper or Malcolm Jenkins. They both know their limitations and so do the coaches. It's Gregg Williams fault for not double covering the only player that was able to make plays against us. You have to be the dumbest coach in the world to be blitzing/gambling in that situation. Everyone is praising Alex Smith for the plays he made in the 4th quarter when they should be blaming GW for all the dumbass calls he made. No disrespct to Smith, but even the most average QB could've made those throws to Vernon Davis. He was killing our safeties all game so it was an obvious read when he saw us blitzing. Saying I'm glad GW gone is the understaement of the century.
Guys, my friend and I (he's a coach) called it before it even happened... "watch the seams, they wide open" and we're just Iowa idiots.
This is no different than the Atlanta Falcons week 10 game when with 1:55 left Matt Ryan went to Harry Douglas (who??) 4 consecutive times, connecting 3 of them for 23, 23, and 20 yards respectively. That's 66 yards to the same guy, right down the seam!!!
Anyone in here think that chunk of film didn't make it to San Fransisco? Even Vernon Davis said "I don't know why they went man coverage on me, they always play zone. I told Alex if they ever go man on me, get it to me, we'll light 'em up".
Personnel issues or not, that was a poor coaching move. An inexcusable one in my book.
