The Humana Challenge

January 16, 2012 8:10 pm

The Bob Hope Palm Desert Classic last of the Hollywood endorsed icon events is now gone after 47 years and replaced in name by The Humana Challenge in partnership with the Clinton Foudation. Welcome to La Quinta home to the three courses to be played this week PGA WEST Palmer Course,PGA WEST Nicklaus Course and LaQuinta. Note that the tournament is no longer a five round event as it has been pared down to four rounds so the cut from what I read will be made after the third round low 70 and ties instead of the second. Last year Johnny Vegas came from out of nowhere to win in a playoff to win the last Hope tournament, so whos hopes will be dashed this year and whos hopes will be fulfilled and win the Humana Challenge in partnership with the Clinton Foundation. Just doesn't have the same ring as winning The Hope. Good Luck all and I Hope your picks are good.

Interesting Dutch!  I hate it when they change the name.  LOL   Bay Hill,  FBR, etc.  It sort takes away something from the tournament for me too.  Cry

We have a good group going here.   Good guessing to all.  Yell

For those of you interested in betting your kids education fund on the result here are the odds.

Greg Norman 300/1 Sam Saunders 500/1. Betting the farm on these two players to finish first and second. Higher education is over-rated!

A big thanks to Dutch and Noko for giving the beautiful intro to our little weekly challenge.

Winning roster (because Dutch likes to peek) will be posted tomorrow night!

Stay cool.

You wouln't need to bet the farm.  A $1 bet that predicted Norman was first and Saunders was second would get you a return of over $150K

Having said that I have a feeling  this sort of bet is not allowed in the UK  when betting golf.

I'll post my ideas first:

Phil / Kuchar

Haas / Dustin J.
Kim / Snedeker

Crane / Immelman

I've always been a Trevor fan.  Any scuttlebutt on how he's doing?  He's been back to full health again right?

Here we go! Another attempt at those elusive dozen of free Nike golf balls!

(It goes without saying if I were ever to win a weekly segment those golf balls would never be used.)

(More than likely mounted like a trophy buck.)

(Put on display for all to see.)

(Proudly telling the tale of my fantasy golf prowess.)

Anyways, here is my starting line up.

“A” team

Chez Reavie / Matt Kuchar

“B” team

Bill Haas / John Rollins

Chris Kirk / M. Thompson

“C” team

Martin Laird / Pat Perez

Good luck to all!

Exactly.  Let's veto a pipeline to bring more oil into the country and force the Canadians to build one to the Pacific Ocean where they'll have to sell it to the Chinese.

No Oil for us = $5 gallon gas and more Government Motors cars running on electricity that happen to start on fire.

Whose side is he on anyways?  Heck let him play golf everyday.  If he's doing that then he's not forking us over with asinine decisions like this.

Speaking of vetoing I'm in favor of doing that to my picks.

Are they all still hungover from the Hawaii jaunt?

Villegas!  Seriously!  Surprised
