I hope Romo is watching how to play QB from Mr. Manning, Eli not Peyton!
I hope our front 5 take note on how to have heart and get after a QB for 6o mins, follow the Giants again!
Since 2000 the Giants have been in the SB twice and maybe a third time soon.
What do we have to show for in the last 12 years? During show n tell we can't say or do didley squat!
Good luck GMen! Ballin!

No kidding.  Hope he doesn't choke and fold like Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers.  QB play like that has no place in the NFL.  :P

I think we should go after Tim Tebow, Matt Ryan, or T.J. Yates, because they played "Lights Out" during the playoffs! *eyes rolling*

Hey GStrap You forgot something.  I hope Romo's Offensive Line is watching how to protect their QB and How to give their QB time to throw the ball, Like Eli Manning Offensive Line is doing for him. instead of Romo running for his life on every snap.  How many times did Eli Manning break his collar bone or how about broken ribs and a punctured lung and a bruised throwing hand.  YUP its alot easier to win games when your playing with out these injuries.

GStrap,

Here's some fun facts since we're comparing QB's and all.  I'm actually going to steal this fun fact from another thread where someone else made the stinging comparison to Tony Romo.

T.J. Yates, Tim Tebow, and Alex Smith all have as many playoff wins as Tony Romo.  OUCH

I think I just defended your point brah.  :)

-------

Jim Plunkett has more SB wins than Steve Young, Peyton Manning and Brett Favre.

Trent Dilfer has more SB wins that Dan Marino, Jim Kelly, Fran Tarkenton, and Dan Fouts combined

Oh, and Tony Romo has more playoff wins than Matt Ryan, Josh Freeman, and Matt Schaub combined.

I'm pretty sure I just demolished your [ahem] point.

Here endeth the lesson.  Back to Madden for ya....

Kelly and Tark both took their teams to multiple title games, and Fouts and Marino combined to have a 11 - 14 playoff record while Dilfer was 5 - 1 in the playoffs.

Now who's following who around? Not even on the main board, Alf. Tsk-tsk.

Dilfer was 5-1...but 4-0 with a team that had one of the greatest defenses of the Super Bowl era. In the rest of his 13-year career how did the Dynamic Dilfer do?

And I notice you didn't bother adressing Romo having more playoff wins than those other hearoes of Tru-Blue or Blu-Cool or whatever name he's using this week.

Beat it, troll.

Dilfer only played on two playoff teams one year he went 1 - 1 with the Bucs his next shot he went 4 - 0 and won a title. And wether it was with one of the greatest defenses of all time or not. They weren't going to that bowl with Banks so the change to Dilfer was made and the rest was history. And the defense didn't sniff another bowl after Dilfer either thus adding more proof to the assumption that he deserves more credit than the fantasy crowd is giving him. On the flip side your boy Fouts had a losing playoff record and threw more Ints than TDS in the playoffs.

Yates is a beast.  Screw Arian Foster even though he almost had as many yards on the ground as Yates did through the air.  Yates is the man!  3 picks is where it's at!

Oh Romo having more wins than Freeman and Schaub is impressive, especially when you take into account neither guy has been in a playoff game! That's like bragging he has more wins than me! As for Ryan he is 0-2 what's Romo 1-3? Yeah real stellar and actually he should be 1 - 4 when you consider last game of the season this year was basically a playoff game.

Doesn't make him a great QB...or a very good one...or even a good one.

And the defense didn't sniff another bowl after Dilfer either thus adding more proof to the assumption that he deserves more credit than the fantasy crowd is giving him.

You'd think that he would have been able to replicate some of that sucess elsewhere.

And is also in the Hall of Fame. Guess he must'a done something right.

Exactly the point I was making. You're sticking up for your new pal Tru-Blu, who's been on record as saying how great those other guys are.

Yates thru 3 ints against the Ravens in the playoffs, ok. He is the third string QB that beat Cincy. This is an ongoing argument. How about this. At Romo's age it's time to start looking for his replacement and the sooner the better. No really he might be good for two more years. Ware may need to get traded to Baltimore inorder to get a ring before its too late since Dallas is wasting the best of his years. Come at me bro!

Hey, if you want Yates as your guy, that's your choice.  I think the guy stinks and his success was the result of a great surrounding cast.  I think we should trade Romo to the Texans next year so they can run away with the AFC and win the Super Bowl.  I'd be willign to bet that team would win no less than 13 games next year.

the guy who mentioned the oline is right.  All you need to do is watch any of the bad quarterbacks like Rothlisberger and Sanchez to see how a bad oline makes bad quarterback look even worse.  Romo could be one of the ebst to play right now if he gets time and doesn't have to worry about getting stompeded every time he drops back.  How old is Romo tha they need a new one?  Isn't Drew Breese and Tom Brady like 6 years older?

You'd think that he would have been able to replicate some of that sucess elsewhere. OH YOU MEAN LIKE STEVE YOUNG WAS ABLE TO DO? COME ON MAN THE Ravens WAS THE ONLY REMOTELY GOOD TEAM HE EVER PLAYED ON! And is also in the Hall of Fame. Guess he must'a done something right. IT'S SAD ISN'T IT? THE HALL PRO BOWL ETC..... HAVE BECOME KINDA LIKE A JOKE IN RECENT YEARS. I MEAN WHAT DID FOUTS REALLY DO TO DESERVE TO BE THERE? Losing record in the playoffs, dang near a losing record in the regular season as well, almost the same amount of INTS as TDS. IM just not seeing that he was that special to be honest. I guess we better get a bust ready for Rich Gannon as well.

How about this. At Romo's age it's time to start looking for his replacement and the sooner the better.

-------

Given that Jon Kitna is done and I'm not sure Stephen McGee is solid back-up material (let alone potential starter material), I wouldn't argue against looking at a QB in the draft.

No really he might be good for two more years.

-------

I think he could easily have a bit more than that. He'll be 32 this season -- hardly ancient.

Ware may need to get traded to Baltimore inorder to get a ring before its too late since Dallas is wasting the best of his years.

-------

I really don't advocate getting rid of blue-chip players. Ware is a guy you build around, not get rid of.

Trent Dilfer was an average to above-average QB who had some very good intangibles and happened to be in the right place at the right time. If you think there's a lot more to it than that, you're delusional.

You'd think that he would have been able to replicate some of that sucess elsewhere. OH YOU MEAN LIKE STEVE YOUNG WAS ABLE TO DO?

-------

Yet again, you're making my point for me. A QB, no matter how great, isn't going anywhere unless he's got a good supporting cast around him. And some teams have such special traits (i.e., Trent Dilfer's Ravens and Brad Johnson's Bucs, who had lights-out defenses) that they can win without an elite QB.
