IT'S SAD ISN'T IT? THE HALL PRO BOWL ETC..... HAVE BECOME KINDA LIKE A JOKE IN RECENT YEARS. I MEAN WHAT DID FOUTS REALLY DO TO DESERVE TO BE THERE?... IM just not seeing that he was that special to be honest.Because you're ignorant.
IT'S SAD ISN'T IT? THE HALL PRO BOWL ETC..... HAVE BECOME KINDA LIKE A JOKE IN RECENT YEARS. I MEAN WHAT DID FOUTS REALLY DO TO DESERVE TO BE THERE? Losing record in the playoffs, dang near a losing record in the regular season as well, almost the same amount of INTS as TDS. IM just not seeing that he was that special to be honest. I guess we better get a bust ready for Rich Gannon as well. This confirms several things to me...
Fouts was to 4000 yards what Drew Brees is to 5000 yards... He set the plateau that 4000 yards was the new standard for top quarterbacks... He was the second QB to throw for 4000 yards a full twelve years after Joe Namath first did it, but Fouts was the first to do it in consecutive seasons... He led the most powerful high-octane offense of the early 80's (Air Coryell) and was the first QB to throw to THREE DIFFERENT 1000 yard receivers (Jefferson, Joiner, Winslow - tight end)! Oh, and by the way, it was Dan Fouts' record (4802 yards) that Dan Marino broke when he passed for 5000 yards which stood for 27 FREAKING YEARS!!! If you were watching football in the early 80's you would know that there was NOTHING more exciting than a Fouts led offense... It was truly the equivalent to watching Brady, Manning, or Brees' high-octane offenses of today!
