Floyd calls Pacman... literally

So what can you do when the moron Bob Arum hides from you and refuses to take your phone call and comes up with an "excuse a day" every day for the last 2 years... you call Manny yourself.


That's what Floyd did last night, according to Manny Pacquiao, who told a reprter in the Philippines that Floyd reached out to him hoping Manny could talk some sense into Bob Arum.  Floyd has been calling Michael Koncz for the last 3 weeks trying to set up a face to face meeting with Pacquiao to set up the fight Arum refuses to make.  Last night Koncz put Manny on the phone and Mayweather and Pacquaio hashed out what it would take to make the fight.  


Manny told Floyd he would gladly fight on May 5th if Floyd agreed to a 50/50 money split.  Floyd said that wouldn't be a problem and is holding out hope that a fight can be made even though as of this morning Arum is still refusing to consider it.  Unfortunately even though Manny has agreed to fight May 5th, and Floyd has agreed to a 50/50 split, and Golden Boy will gladly work with Top Rank to make the fight happen, Arum is still making excuses and says Manny doesn't want to fight Floyd until November.


How on earth does Arum ever expect anyone to ever take him seriously or belive anything he says for the rest of his life? 

 I saw that article on ESPN.com. This is beyond ridiculous at this point, and to be honest I'm rapidly losing interest in the whole thing. At best this is some Major League posteuring by Boss Hogg or at worst Arum is just a bitter old fool who seems to be flirting with senility! I'm holding out hope that Manny gets tough with Bob and demands Floyd or else, but it doesn't seem like that will happen. Well not in time enough for a May 5th fight! Get the deal done or STFU about it isn how I feel about the whole mess at this point!

based on manny's last fights especially the marquez fight which i think he lost,i just don't give manny any chance of beating mayweather.arum knows this and that is why they act like they are not intrested.at this point i think that mayweathers speed and ring generalship are just too much for pac to overcome.it won't even be close.

But...but according to Grandrapidsron...Floyd signed the contract with a 50/50 split!  He agreed to everything the first time and signed it.  How could this be???

I just read an article on boxingscene that Floyd himself said that he is holding Manny to his previous statement of saying that he would take a pay cut just to make the fight happen.  When Manny asked for the 50/50 split, Mayweather said no and said that Manny will still make more than he ever has fighting him but that it would not be a 50/50 split.  So close, yet so far.  I wish Floyd would just agree to it, he is getting everything else he wants, why not just agree to a 50/50 so we can get this fight going already? 

 There is a sickening amount of money to be made for all parties involved.  It just baffles me how some kind of agreement hasn't been made. At 50-50 Manny is making more than he ever has or ever will, same thing at 60-40. I can't be the only person who thinks this way. Team Pacquiao better get that money while it's still an option. If he fights Marquez a fourth time and struggles AGAIN in victory or loses AGAIN, officially this time, a fight with Floyd is most likeley out the window, unless Pac is willing to take 30 percent, lol. Holy S--t, get the fight deal done already, there is too much money to be made!! 

Oh Ronny boy...I know you're reading this.  No comment on Mayweather agreeing to a 50/50 split AND signing the contract??

I think both sides need to agree to 50/50.  Neither guy has any other fights out their that will come close to what they'll make if they fight eachother.  Mayweather may be undefeated and the favor to win...but he is not the draw here.  But I think they should agree to winner takes the 60/40 split.  Draw 50/50. 

Floyd needs to agree to the 50/50, if Manny is giving in to the rest of his demands including USADA testing.  These two are the top P4P fighters in the world and both deserve that much at least.  Please just agree Floyd, you got everything else just do it already the fans deserve this!

FLOYD NEEDS TO AGREE TO 50/50... If he truly isn't going to, then it's just as much his fault as it is Manny's, even though Manny said 1 month agree he would agree to take less than Floyd.

I'm convinced this fight is not going to happen in May.  If Floyd could learn how to keep his hands off women, we wouldn't be in such a rush to make the fight in May!

I just seen that Cotto said that he never agreed to fight Manny again.  Looks like he's waiting for the Floyd-Pac fight to be put to rest for now so he can step up.  Looks like he's ready to fight like he was 5 years ago!  IMO, Cotto deserves a shot at Floyd more than Sergio.

I'm hoping it is Cotto fighting Floyd inseat of Sergio.  I just got my tickets for Sergio vs. Macklin at Madison Square Garden on March 17th.  I don't want Floyd screwing up my vacation plans by taking Sergio off that card.

Cotto vs Floyd at Madison Sqare Garden would be perfect!  They could do it May 5th, but those Mexican holidays only do good when there's a Mexican on the card.  East Coast Mexican's don't count! haha

The only reason Floyd's sentence was delayed is because he had a contract with MGM on May 5th.  He can't move the date or location with causing major issues.

His Lawyer stated that the only reason is because he requested that Floyd have 3 weeks to heal before going to serve his term.  I don't see what the big deal is, prisoners in this country get better health care than most people.  He can't heal while he folds laundry and stirs the farina in jail or what?  Come on Floyd take the 50/50!!!

Yes, but if you continue on in the lawyers quote, he explains now that the agreement has been made with the judge, it would cause major problems trying to change it.


Floyd proves himself to be a moron yet again though by not telling the world he will agree to 50/50.  Manny still won't fight him on May 5th even he he says he has agreed to 50/50, so he is really being stupid by not agreeing to it. 


 

I don't see how it would cause problems, its not like he would miss his date to serve, Floyd would just have to man up and heal in jail whoopdie doo, whats the big deal?  If he doesn't agree to the 50/50 on the 5th, then why not fight on the 26th and demand the bigger split for changing the date, come on Floyd, use your imagination against the Bob Arum Nation!

Even Teddy Atlas who has been defending Mayweather during this whole mess, is even saying that Mayweather is full of crap for not agreeing to a 50/50 split. heres the article.
