Denard to play WR?!

2+ year discussion with no near end in sight... A legit open tryout for "the man with his hands in the Center's crack" position just may happen. Bellomy (best mechanics of any passer on this team with good arm strength, size, accuracy and athleticism) anyone?

That's the problem though.  DRob was/is the starter.   DRob wants to be QB.   How do you let DRob walk away from your program?   Evenj knowing DRob can cost you as many games as he wins for you?  or throw more Int's than TD's?

Urban Myer once recruited DRob.  Recruited him as an athlete.    RR recruited DRob too.   RR recruited DRob as a QB.  Have to look past the surface and desires of the player. Myer had won two NC's and recruited DRob as an athlete.   DRob wanted to play QB and went to the "name school/coach" that afforded him the best oppotunity to play D1 QB.   No brainer where he went.   


I know Windy and others on here are high on DRob as Michigan's QB.   While there shouldn't be any doubt he would have played for any other team had he transferred, how many elite/upper echelon programs would he have started as QB?

That is a question none of us know.   I think we can all agree however you don't let a talent like him walk away.   From what I've read, Hoke, Mattison or Borgess never guaranteed anyone a starting job.  However, those of us with just an inkling of intelligence knows this really isn't a "hard" line in the sand.  Over 20 years in the Army and quite a few as a parent, I  know how to say the things I need to to get my message across.    I've never once told my kids or soldiers if they did something they would get/have an advantage over my other kids or soldiers.


DRob, if you stay at Michigan you will be given the opportunity to compete for/play QB.   What other major schools can/have made you that deal?

This is sad that I have to agree. That is the real world and good kids like DR probably had that played on him. I don't know for sure, but that's the way the world works. Psst....The longer you keep them innocent the better they will be.
