LOCK THREAD CONCEPT -

This thread has been created for all of us to share our expertise with everyone else to benefit the group.

THIS IS NOT A PICKING CONTEST!

PLEASE make special note of this!!! If you have an area of expertise - Pac-10, NBA, Soccer, MLB, Big East, NHL, etc. - please make some LOCK choices from your area of expertise when you have a game you are confident enough in to call it a "LOCK". The difference between a PICK and a LOCK is that a PICK is a game you like, a LOCK is a game that you KNOW. We are here to help each other win. If you are claiming your choice is a LOCK, and you really have NO true knowledge of that game, then you are just cheating us and posting your PICK just for attention and to see your name on the board.

RULES FOR POSTING -

We take it upon ourselves to donate our time and track everybody's LOCK every day, as long as you agree to do your part by doing a few simple things. We will not track your LOCKs if you do not follow these rules. You are welcome to still post your PICK or card, but unless you do the things below, we won't be putting your LOCK on the spreadsheet.

- Post only 1 LOCK per day.  You may post a MAXIMUM of 4 LOCKS per week.  A week starts on Monday, and ends on Sunday.  Choose NCAA, NBA, NFL, or NHL.  You do not have to stay in one sport.  Spread them around if you like.

- No "buying" points for LOCKS.

- We want the LOCKS posted early enough so we can all benefit . If the LOCK is not posted within 30 minutes of the scheduled CBS start time the LOCK will not count.

- No other "line-manipulations: like teasers, etc

- First half or mini lines are OK.  No second half or quarter lines. Time constraints make second half lines too tough to track.   

- No parlays. Period.

- Props are OK as long as you give a site where we can check the line.

- Hockey, baseball, and soccer plays need to be -129 or better.  No HUGE favorites for LOCKS.  Anything -130 and over, take the -1.5 goals or runs if you feel like it is still a LOCK.

- Do not try to cheat on lines. We, as a group, are all over the lines and every time someone gives a stinky spread, it is always called out. If the line is off, the LOCK doesn't go into the spreadsheet.

- LOCKs MUST be posted 30 minutes before the time CBS says the game is set to go off, anything less than 30 minutes the LOCK will not count.

And, THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE!

You must give an original explanation as to why you KNOW this LOCK will win. And don't just "stat" us to death. Tell us about the game. And if you are going to try and fool us by cutting and pasting from another website, at least figure out how to remove all the HTML and other garbage. People on this thread are all over the internet and will find your plagiarism. I guarantee it. You can use Last 10, ATS, etc., numbers to support your argument, but stats from a gambling website are not an explanation. They are stats that any of us can get anywhere on the internet. Also, how about if you have actually SEEN the team play that you pick. I'd say that if you haven't seen a team play at least a few times, you can't really be an expert on the said team.

morning 6-1 yesterday with a Lock winner

Phx +6 - Nash is playing like the Nash of old on this rd trip and Gortat is healthy and playing his best ball right now too. I think Phx on 2 days rest will have enough to avenge an earlier loss to Dallas and end their long rd trip on a positive note. Phx has led at the half in last 2 games at Boston and at NY. Mavs are without Nowitzski and did fine on the road winning at NO, but Hornets were terrible offensively and missed a ton of open shot (37% FG). I believe the pressure of being at home for the 1st game w/out Dirk and having to play extended minutes will cause some of the Mavs players to struggle against a Suns team that is starting to gel. Mavs last 4 games have been decided by 2-3pts and I expect this one to come down to the wire too. GL

Goodmorning, I just wanted to say that I am sorry to all for my plays of late.I am only going to do 1 game a night till I can get back on track.

Look for Syr to rebound today after losing on Sat.Syracuse has won six of eight all-time against Cincinnati, and has taken the last three meetings by an average of 18.7 points.

LOCK -  WPG/CAR UNDER 5.5 -125

Today we have a battle of divisional rivals as the winnipeg jets invade carolina to take on the canes. Canes under is 4-0 the last 4 games where they have allowed only 4 regulation goals and 6 goals overall.  Canes have allowed 12 goals in the last 7 games for an average of 1.45 goals per game where they held the caps to 2 goals in 2 games held bos pitt and philly to 2 goals as well. Cam ward has been incredible during this stretch saving 225 of 237 shots in 7 games and an amazing 123 of 128 in the last 4 games.  Jets under is 6-3 last 9 games.  Jets have struggled on offense the last 9 games scoring 16 goals for an average of 1.77 goals per game.  They have scored 2 or less in 6 of 9 games 1 or less in 4 of 9 games and have been shutout twice during that stretch. It wont get any easier today as their playing without their best player. Evander kane is out with concussion symptoms and he leads them with 18 goals this season. They also continue to be without top defensemen byfuglien as well and his 24 pts are hard to replace. Im hoping Mason starts today cause he hasnt surrendered more then 2 goals in a game  in 8 meetings vs the canes and is 3-0 with a 1.39 gaa against them this season. Ward is 6-2-1 with a 2.31 gaa against the jets he has held them to 2 goals or less in 8 of 9 starts vs them. Look for a real tight close game here.  Only meeting in car was A 3-1 UNDER jet win.

BIG PLAY - NYI/TOR UNDER 5.5 -110


UNDER IS 5-1 LAST 6 FOR ISLES.  UNDER IS 6-0 LAST 6 FOR LEAFS AND 8-2 LAST 10.  LEAFS SCORED 11 GOAL LAST 6 GAMES. Isles have allowed 10 goals last 6 games and have held canes caps and flyers to 2 goals last 3.  Nabakov has been in a zone lately and the Monster has improved from beginning of the season. Should be a great game.


BIG PLAY - STL/DET UNDER 5 +110

Under is 4-0 in 4 games between these 2 teams this season. Would of locked this but i feel it has a good chance to push. Det has outscored stl 9-7 in 4 games with  both defenses top notch and neither team scoring more then 3 in a game. Halak is white hot right now and howard has had a great season. should be a great game.

 Good Morning Everyone ! Lang's plays went 1-1 yesterday. He is on a Hot Streak. He should get back to his loosing ways this week. Lang's record since 1/15/12 is 3-7-1 and his record since I have been fading him is 2-2-1. 
  Also, I spoke with Georgec last night about trying to follow Late Line Movement a little closer. There are several others who post here that watch the line movement.  I am talking about a line changing usually an hour or less before a game goes off. Did you guys watch the story on Sixty Minutes about professional sports gamblers ? If not, I am sure you can bring it up on Utube or on their web site. It was pretty interesting. Supposedly there are only 2 professional sports gamblers in the world that Vegas is afraid of. These people are not even allowed in casino's. So they have runners who work with them and make the plays at various casinos. When these runners make their move, the casinos change their lines and the internet sportsbooks follow them. I will not be around today or tonight because I have to work and a Rosary to attend after work. But I invite all of you to look a little closer into what I am talking about and watch this Sixty Minutes story. I simply think we might all improve our winning percentage if we look into this. And we will need help tracking this because there are too many games to keep an eye on some days. Here is a good web site to watch the line movement.

Yeah Time I heard that he told his wife and close friends that one of the main reasons he never wanted to retire was because he felt that if he did he would die. He lived for Penn State, the university and his players. He was right on on his prediction. Shame he had to go out with all of this controversy hangin over his head. It was def a bittersweet day for me yesterday with Joe Pa leaving us and the Gmen getting to the soup once again.

Southampton has been in rather good form all year, as they sit in 2nd table position.  They are pushing for promotion and their transfer window actions suggest they are quite willing to try to spend for that.  At home this campaign, they are 11-1-1 with a 30-9 GD.  Leicester has been a disappointment and their away performance has contributed.  They tend to play tight on the road and only have 3 wins away.  This play is predicated on Southampton's strong home performance.
