LOCK THREAD CONCEPT -

This thread has been created for all of us to share our expertise with everyone else to benefit the group.

THIS IS NOT A PICKING CONTEST!

PLEASE make special note of this!!! If you have an area of expertise - Pac-10, NBA, Soccer, MLB, Big East, NHL, etc. - please make some LOCK choices from your area of expertise when you have a game you are confident enough in to call it a "LOCK". The difference between a PICK and a LOCK is that a PICK is a game you like, a LOCK is a game that you KNOW. We are here to help each other win. If you are claiming your choice is a LOCK, and you really have NO true knowledge of that game, then you are just cheating us and posting your PICK just for attention and to see your name on the board.

RULES FOR POSTING -

We take it upon ourselves to donate our time and track everybody's LOCK every day, as long as you agree to do your part by doing a few simple things. We will not track your LOCKs if you do not follow these rules. You are welcome to still post your PICK or card, but unless you do the things below, we won't be putting your LOCK on the spreadsheet.

- Post only 1 LOCK per day.  You may post a MAXIMUM of 4 LOCKS per week.  A week starts on Monday, and ends on Sunday.  Choose NCAA, NBA, NFL, or NHL.  You do not have to stay in one sport.  Spread them around if you like.

- No "buying" points for LOCKS.

- We want the LOCKS posted early enough so we can all benefit . If the LOCK is not posted within 30 minutes of the scheduled CBS start time the LOCK will not count.

- No other "line-manipulations: like teasers, etc

- First half or mini lines are OK.  No second half or quarter lines. Time constraints make second half lines too tough to track.   

- No parlays. Period.

- Props are OK as long as you give a site where we can check the line.

- Hockey, baseball, and soccer plays need to be -129 or better.  No HUGE favorites for LOCKS.  Anything -130 and over, take the -1.5 goals or runs if you feel like it is still a LOCK.

- Do not try to cheat on lines. We, as a group, are all over the lines and every time someone gives a stinky spread, it is always called out. If the line is off, the LOCK doesn't go into the spreadsheet.

- LOCKs MUST be posted 30 minutes before the time CBS says the game is set to go off, anything less than 30 minutes the LOCK will not count.

And, THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE!

You must give an original explanation as to why you KNOW this LOCK will win. And don't just "stat" us to death. Tell us about the game. And if you are going to try and fool us by cutting and pasting from another website, at least figure out how to remove all the HTML and other garbage. People on this thread are all over the internet and will find your plagiarism. I guarantee it. You can use Last 10, ATS, etc., numbers to support your argument, but stats from a gambling website are not an explanation. They are stats that any of us can get anywhere on the internet. Also, how about if you have actually SEEN the team play that you pick. I'd say that if you haven't seen a team play at least a few times, you can't really be an expert on the said team.

Lock.... Purdue -5
Always a favorite system play for me. Unranked team favorite against a ranked team. Not only that, Purdue needs a good win after getting crushed by Michigan State where Robbie Hummel only had 2 points in that game.  Michigan, who just travel to Arkansas (lost) is on the road again where they haven't play too well. Purdure has won there last 6 game at home against Michigan by an average of 15 points. Hummel also plays well against Michigan averaging almost 15 points in five game. He'll bounce back today at home against Michigan. Purdue needs a good win against a ranked team. Looking for an 80-64 win tonight. Good Luck.

Lock = Kentucky/Georgia under 132 (5dimes)

I like this to stay under the total given UK's defense and Georgia's ineptness on offense.  Also, look for UK to go down low more often than not.  Georgia plays mostly man-to-man defense, but most likely will be playing some 2-3 zone (they simply won't be able to match-up with UK), which has typcially slowed UK down a bit this year.  UK uses a lot of clock against the 2-3 zone.   UK trending to the under this year as well.  I would be surprised if Georgia hits 55 today, UK max 75 leaves this under the total.

San Diego State has won three straight and six of the past eight against the Cowboys. The Aztecs have won the past three meetings by an average of 32 points.I like them to win tonight.

Southampton ML -114 lock of the day (as I mentioned in my earler post)   LOSER
Southampton currently sit in 2nd place in the Championship on 50 points only 3 points behind leaders West Ham United, and with this game in hand to play 3 points today would put them top of the league (on goal difference).The Saints started the league season on fire but their form in recent weeks has been very inconsistent, during their last 6 games their form reads W2-D2-L2 however they have won their last 2 games. Rickie Lambert with 15 goals will miss serving his 3rd game of a suspension,but they still scored goals even without him. Leicester City are 15th in the league with 35 points only 8 points of the playoffs but 11 points outside of the relegation places, inconsistency has been the Foxes problem all season, during their last 6 games their form reads W1-D3-L2.
The H2H sees Southampton 30 wins Leicester with 22 wins and 25 draws between them, but St Mary's is a tough place for the Foxes to visit, they have won there twice (2000 and 1967), Southampton have won their last 4 at home against Leicester (1-0 and 2-0 3 times).
Looking at those stats you would have to favour Southampton even though their recent form is a bit off, both the Saints and the Foxes beat lets face it a very poor Forest team 3-0 and 4-0 respectively in their last games, so both know where the back of the net is, We might have a few new signings in this one on each side Falque a spanish little mid for Southampton and Lee could see some time upfront.On the Leicester side Drinkwater and Delfouneso might get in the mix. What tips me even more toward  homeside and goals is the fact that Leicester will miss Sol Bamba (defensive starter for the Ivory Coast) and John Panstil both playing in Africa for the cup of Nations. 3-1 Southampton IMO.
Over 2.5 +100 Large value play also as Leicester has been getting the 1 goal on the road. LOSER

Last game before the all star break for the rangers so expect a top notch defensive effort tonight. Facts are facts and the facts state rangers have gone 5 goals or under in 13 straight games.  Rangers under is 8-0-5 in the last 13 games.  In the last 13 games the rangers have allowed 1.84 goals per game. They have allowed 2 or under in 9 of 13 games and have 3 shutouts in the last 13 games. On offense they continue to struggle scoring 3 or less in  10 straight games and 12 of 13 games overall.  They have averaged 2.31 goals in their last 13 games and even less if u consider the 2 ot games and 1 shootout so its really like 2.1 goals.  Wpg has gone under in 7 of 10 games and 13 of 17 overall.  Jets have averaged 1.7 goals in the last 10 games. They have scored 2 or less in 7 of 10 games  1 or less in 5 of 10 games and have been shutout twice. They have surrendered 2.6 goals per game in their last 10 games but have allowed 2 or less goals in 6 of 9 games. Today they have a rested pavelec who got the night off last night and should be ready to go tonight. Rangers haven't played since saturday so henrik so be raring to go today.  Rangers continue to be one of the top 3 defenses allowing 2.02 goals per game and 87 percent penalty kill while king henrik has 21 wins a 1.93 gaa 936 save pct and 4 shutouts. Pavelec got off to an awful start but has been better of late and plays well vs the rangers. Under is 2-0 between these 2 teams this season with a 3-0 and 2-1 rangers wins. Also top defensemen byfuglien is out for jets and Evander kane should be out as well being that all star break starts tomorrow. anisimov could be out for rangers as well. Long story short With the 8-0-5 under in last 13 for rangers and 13-4 last 17 under for jets combined with the struggles of both offenses right now and a most likely great display before break on defense for rangers i love this to be under tonight.

BIG PLAY - TOR/NYI UNDER 5.5 -120

Going back to the well with this one again. Tor has now gone under 7 straight time and 8 of the last 9 games.  isles have gone under in 5 straight games and 6 of 7 games.  Isles have allowed 8 goals in the last 5 games while leafs have allowed 13 in 7 games. Ill ride these under streaks and goalies tonight.


BIG PLAY - PITT/STL UNDER 5 +110

ELLIOTT and his 15 wins 5 shutouts 1.68 gaa and 937 save pct will start tonight for blues vs pens while fleury and his 25 wins 2.26 gaa starts for pens. Blues under is 5-2-3 in the last 10 games and they allow a league low 1.96 goals per game. Pens allow 2.56 goals and kill of 87 percent of penalties.  Look for tight play tonight from the blues after 3 goals allowed last night which is like 6 to them. I expect a push at worst here with either team capable of winning 2-1 here.


thats what i played for now. Bos/wsh and nsh/chi lines are off right now cause of injuries so ill wait to play those.
