LOCK THREAD CONCEPT -

This thread has been created for all of us to share our expertise with everyone else to benefit the group.

THIS IS NOT A PICKING CONTEST!

PLEASE make special note of this!!! If you have an area of expertise - Pac-10, NBA, Soccer, MLB, Big East, NHL, etc. - please make some LOCK choices from your area of expertise when you have a game you are confident enough in to call it a "LOCK". The difference between a PICK and a LOCK is that a PICK is a game you like, a LOCK is a game that you KNOW. We are here to help each other win. If you are claiming your choice is a LOCK, and you really have NO true knowledge of that game, then you are just cheating us and posting your PICK just for attention and to see your name on the board.

RULES FOR POSTING -

We take it upon ourselves to donate our time and track everybody's LOCK every day, as long as you agree to do your part by doing a few simple things. We will not track your LOCKs if you do not follow these rules. You are welcome to still post your PICK or card, but unless you do the things below, we won't be putting your LOCK on the spreadsheet.

- Post only 1 LOCK per day.  You may post a MAXIMUM of 4 LOCKS per week.  A week starts on Monday, and ends on Sunday.  Choose NCAA, NBA, NFL, or NHL.  You do not have to stay in one sport.  Spread them around if you like.

- No "buying" points for LOCKS.

- We want the LOCKS posted early enough so we can all benefit . If the LOCK is not posted within 30 minutes of the scheduled CBS start time the LOCK will not count.

- No other "line-manipulations: like teasers, etc

- First half or mini lines are OK.  No second half or quarter lines. Time constraints make second half lines too tough to track.   

- No parlays. Period.

- Props are OK as long as you give a site where we can check the line.

- Hockey, baseball, and soccer plays need to be -129 or better.  No HUGE favorites for LOCKS.  Anything -130 and over, take the -1.5 goals or runs if you feel like it is still a LOCK.

- Do not try to cheat on lines. We, as a group, are all over the lines and every time someone gives a stinky spread, it is always called out. If the line is off, the LOCK doesn't go into the spreadsheet.

- LOCKs MUST be posted 30 minutes before the time CBS says the game is set to go off, anything less than 30 minutes the LOCK will not count.

And, THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE!

You must give an original explanation as to why you KNOW this LOCK will win. And don't just "stat" us to death. Tell us about the game. And if you are going to try and fool us by cutting and pasting from another website, at least figure out how to remove all the HTML and other garbage. People on this thread are all over the internet and will find your plagiarism. I guarantee it. You can use Last 10, ATS, etc., numbers to support your argument, but stats from a gambling website are not an explanation. They are stats that any of us can get anywhere on the internet. Also, how about if you have actually SEEN the team play that you pick. I'd say that if you haven't seen a team play at least a few times, you can't really be an expert on the said team.

Victoria Azarenka will now prepare for a much tougher match – a meeting with defending champion Kim Clijsters who, despite having an injured ankle, totally outplayed world No.1 Caroline Wozniacki in their quarterfinal. Kim has stated this will be her last Australian Open, which motivates her even more. Two matches ago she faced Li Na where she fought off 4 match points and won in three sets. I went 2-0 yesterday on posted plays bringing my record to (2 Unit plays 41-39, 5 unit plays 1-0, This week 2-0). I got scared off of the San Diego St. game because of the weird line movement but in heinsight I should have stuck to my gut and just stayed with the pick. You live and learn I guess. I will try and be back on later with a few plays.

With hockey taking a break for the next 6 days im 99 percent i wont lock anything and take my 7  lock iin a row streak to next week. I will not lock something thats not my strength alas cbb or the crapshoot that is the nba. Mtl/det under is 2 high to lock at this point. if it goes to down under -130 which i dont think it will i will lock it if not on to next week.


With the nhl next week coming back and obvious lock on the super bowl giants +3 lol next week will be a huge week!

I'm a huge Cuse fan - and CBB in general.  I really wish Syr was going to the big 10.  I wish they were staying in the BE of course. but if they must go, i wish it would have been to the B10.  Us east coasters have bashed the Big Ten for years and it's boring style. It is not like that anymore.  There is some great hoops being played there. Plus, the venues are awesome.  They have that traditional college feel that is disappearing in other places. Mackey last night was great. Chrisler, Breslin, The Barn, Assembly.  seems like every site is a great place.  meanwhile the ACC sites are all these quasi-pro style arenas. Tech, NC St, UNC, now MD.  I guess Blacksburg and BC still keep it real.  And Cameron is cameron.  but by and large the big ten looks awesome and the acc looks totally dull outside of Duke

This is the time of year they start scoring in Turkey...Happened last season as well....We had all overs in that league yesterday (or pushes) and we have an 8:30 am match about to go over....2-0 by the big dog before half

TTA here it is lol. Well I locked the first game of this home and home to go over and doing it again after the first one hit. I could get odds at 3 with the juice that would qualify for a lock,but like I said in the past I don't care about my lock record. Still that doesn't mean I'll throw out just any play. So if you feel more comfortable at 3 go for it. Real have to overcome a 2-1 loss and if it were the other way around I don't think I would go for the over because Real would try to kill the game. But after the first game Real have to attack and score and we all know that Barca like to impose their will and won't just sit back,because that is their nature. So with Real attacking that just leaves extra space for Barca at home. There is no hiding that these two don't ike each otherand if either team can put more than just a few away,believe me they will. Barca's D is still giving up chances and Real even after taking the lead in the first game still coudn't defend it. I just think goals will come here and if we get a couple early we could probably se 5 or 6,so I'm going with the + odds.
It's redundent so I won't get into naming the players on both sides. If you don't know them by now you haven't followed soccer and if you haven't followed these two naming some of the  best players in the world wouldn't do anything for you anyway. I'm looking at a 3-2 Barca win today or maybe a 2-2 Good luck.
