The QB sets the tone for the offense

January 25, 2012 1:32 am

Just cruised through the "Philip Rivers and six other players with the worst playoff resumes" on the bleacher report.   I only did so because it was a topic in our group on FB.  Guess who is on the list?  Okay now guess which picture they have posted next to his name under this heading?  Now guess which video was posted along with it rather than do a paragraph on why Romo is on the list,...................

What is defining Tony Romo is every time he hasn't gotten it done right now, contrary to a lot of yours opinion that it's everybody else's fault.  He is in a tough spot though.  He's not just a QB, he's the QB for the Dallas Cowboys, the problem is he's been on the losing end of too many playoff games or games with playoff type implications as the QB for the Dallas Cowboys.

Just saying he's on the wrong list.  He needs to be the one who Eli is trailing in terms of Super Bowl shows.  He is behind on Super Bowl shows right now, he sure better right that ship this coming season or else.  I've been defending him to Steelers and 49er's fans, but everytime he does things like what he did this season, he makes that harder and harder to do.

They better really show up this coming season.  And he needs to be the reason why.  All they have to do is show up to the Super Bowl and probably all will be forgiven.   The reason is simple,...he's the QB for the Dallas Cowboys,  what better position to be in to be the biggest hero.  Jerry has built the biggest stage,...it's past time for this group (led by Tony Romo) to be on that stage.

They better get it done this coming season,......no excuses will be acceptable this time if they don't.

-------

See who else is on the list? One of your heroes, Mike Vick.

Know who else SHOULD be on the list? One of your other heroes, Matt Ryan (0-3, more INTS than TDs).

Know who's NOT on the list because he can't even make the playoffs? Another one of your heroes, Josh Freeman

What is defining Tony Romo is every time he hasn't gotten it done right now, contrary to a lot of yours opinion that it's everybody else's fault.

-------

No one has that. Matter of fact, time and time and time again we've said Romo deserves his share of the blame...just not ALL of it.

Try learning to read sometime -- it'll help you grow and develop an understanding of concepts.

Until then -- back to Madden, chump.

If Romo was as GREAT as you say he is why is he on the list?
Hmm maybe he's just not that good. :)

Take that back to Madden,..........oh and Jerry Jones, because Jerry just told him the same s***.  LMAO.

The QB sets the tone for the offense

I use to believe that the QB was all the difference based on his demenour.  Look at Drew B. or Tom B. as an example.  While in a 2 score lead, I have witnessed both get pissed when not completing a 3rd down.  I thought to myself they should not be so upset with such a lead.  It was that killer mentality that I felt Romo did not have and felt this could be an issue that while not on the surface, was something that bleed out silently and "could" effect the teams play.

Well then I see Eli.  Now that is the goofiest QB of late.  What does his demenour say when he f's a pass...his head is down and slowely walks back to the side lines almost looking as if he is pouting.

He to me was the exact opposite of Drew and Tom but now I know the QB, while an inportant part, is only that...a part.
Dosent matter how the QB acts on or off the field.  Wins are about luck, skill, coaching, refs. calls, lucky bounce, crowd noise, cheerleaders, effective pressure, luck, motivational speeches, what happened in the game before, the lights, clock management, not having sex the night before (shakey legs), want of players, luck and more luck.

I just cant stand being close every freaking year and this year is no different.  5 min. left against the 6-6 or 7-7 Giants.  5 min. is the difference against the Giants.  If we win that game, the Giants lose their confidence while we greatly improve ours.  5 min was the difference.  Hell, a few seconds was the difference against Arizona.

I cant stand that fact.  In all games we played outside of a few, we were in the game.  And in many of the seasons past, we were in the hunt.
Come December and this team falls off.

Number one concern - Red Zone - especially rushing
Number two concern - D-line Pressure
Number three concern - Running game
Number - more important than these three - finish the freaking game and change the prevent defense.

The teams that Romo has played on just weren't as good as the teams that he's played against.  Football is a team sport if I remember correctly.

well Mr Trublu if Jerry knew how to properly draft we wouldn't be in this situation now would we and we wouldn't have a defense giving up 27 points a game either. that stat should tell you alot.

Except I've never said Romo was "great," you moron.  This is the lie you need to perptuate.

Guess you flunked remedial reading, huh nitwit?  See? This is what happens when you play Madden in all your spare time instead of bothering to learn to read.

superlifefan.....good write.  I would only say one thing and that's about your list of concerns....I'd replace #3...the running game was fine until DeMarco got hurt...and given the fact Felix probably wasn't even 90%, hopefully the runnning game picks up next year where it left off.

In its place should be the entire defensive secondary!  In fact, that's my #1, then I agree on d pressure..and I might even throw coaching decisions (offense and defense) for #3....

I see where you are coming from TX.  I'm getting old and now folllow a wait and see approach.  Murray is the chit and really I like how Felix came back in with burst and desire, it seemed, when given an opportunity after Murray went down.  While I can see a great tandem next year, I look at years past with Garrett and he likes to throw.

I just want more running plays with Garrett.  It seems that it's off balance eventhough I saw stats that were in line with a balanced game (running and passing) I want more runs so to draw up more play actions and use the clock to our advantage with teams who score quickly.

Plus, I think that we had 5 rushing TD's as a team this year and some rb's have that plus more by themselves.
While the 2ndary was the cancer, I believe we shore up the D-line and the 2ndary will get better even if we still have the same players.  Look to the Giants as an example.

From the looks of it thus far at the Senior, Spencer may be gone bc what was listed as potential players that will be chosen in the first round...3 out of 5 plays his position.

If the defense didn't change at all from 2 years ago, so why did you think anything would be different from this year?  If you haven't been watching the playoffs, it don't matter who your QB is or what stats he puts up.  DEFENSE wins in the playoffs in this league and the Giants have shown it once again.  That's why Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees are sitting at home right now.  But of course it's not their faults that their teams lost.  With Romo it always is though.  Laughable.

Eli quietly set the tone for the Giants in a very loud way...by the use of his arm.  What is the sound of one hand throwing?   Super Bowl!

First time poster, long time reader.  I felt compelled to finally say something because I have lost a lot of the enjoyment I have with reading OUR board because of the constant back and forth with that queer Blu-Cool.

Cowboys fans, you know how you make this fake ass Cowboys fan go away?  Never say another word or respond to another piece of nonsense this idiot has to say.  He has repeated the same nonsense damn near verbatim for the last season, there is nothing else that you can say to show this little ghetto boy the light.  So this is what you do.  Pretend he doesn't exist.  Do you believe he would continue to type out these idiotic posts if he were getting no attention or response from anyone whatsoever?  I doubt it.  He would probably go back to writing random letters to men in prison, hoping to someday find his father (that'd be your momma's baby daddy in case you've never heard the word father.)

Honestly CBoy fans, it has gotten to the point where I avoid reading things from people who I recognize and respect for their thoughtful opinions, critical outlook on the game, and honest assessment of the team they love... because the board has been taken over by this idiot and his ignorant nonsense... and we've all allowed him to do it.

New season; new challenge.  Don't respond to a single word he says.  He's not a fan, he doesn't belong here.  Let him take his schtick elsewhere.

It's easier said than done (sometimes it just feel good to scrathc that annoying itch) but that's a very worthwhile stance.

Unfortunately, you know someone is gonna miss the memo, or Blu-Tool will create another ID or two and start conversations with himself that others will follow in.

I know I'm clearly one of the worst offenders, but I'm gonna actually do as you say and not even respond to this garbage anymore.  If nobody responds, he'll be long gone.
