I realize that...just pointing out that KU's loss is to a better team than MU's loss.....since who you lose to apparently matters a lot.

For RANKINGS purpose, yes, but not for conference standings. I just sat down and watched the game since I was at a swim meet for my kid yesterday. KU did not play well at all on either end of the floor. They failed to get adequate rebounding position and they failed to drive to the rim to create contact, draw fouls and get to the line. T-Rob looks a little out of sorts and has for the last three games. I don't know what his problem is but something just isn't right in his game.

Withey was back to being non-agressive. He was not looking to score on most occassions and looked quick to give up position and the ball.

Teahan. Grrrr. He has one strength and is not performing that strength at an acceptable level. BIG problem. This is the weakest link in the chain right now. If he is going to be a sub-par defender, he HAS to be an above average three point shooter. Unfortunately, he is turning out to be sub-par in that as well. We have all hoped and prayed that he would provide some quality minutes, but as the season gets tougher, he is fading into irrelevance.

No we didn't play well yesterday.  Teahan unfortunately is about the only answer off the bench.  Like last year I get started watching one player on D and this year its him.  He gets out of position almost every trip down the floor and leaves shooters wide open or gets beat off the bounce.  Last year that was Reed.  The difference is Reed would hit wide open looks more than missing them.  Reed would catch the ball if thrown his way.  Reed would at least drive to the rim from time  to time and try some layups.

Every college team has some wweaknesses.  Our weaknesses are shooting the 3, and bench production.  Can't do anything about the bench, but we can get better at shooting the ball.  TT, EJ and Releford have shown the ability to nail some shots when we needed them.  I think that combo can make shots.  Right now I think they are waiting for each other to get hot and take shots.  I would rather have TT take more shots from beyond and see Releford do more driving.

Shoe might have nailed it when he said since the POY talk started to get really over the top, Trob has floundered some.  Love TRob, but honestly J'Covan Brown would get my vote for POY in the conference.  HE has been more consistent overall as a scorer.  Not saying that I don't want Trob to win it, but Brown continues to keep posting good scoring numbers and keeps his team close to winning games.  It wouldn't hurt if EJ and TT set up some easier hoops for Trob along the way as well.  Remember Blake Griffin at OU and how many alley oops he posted when he won it?  Thats how big guys win the award, not by creating shots for them selves.  I dont care about that stuff much.  IF we win the league, TRob wins the POY in conference.  IF we win the league, more than likely Trob is still a top 3 finalist for the POY in the nation.  WInning takes care of all.

"Love TRob, but honestly J'Covan Brown would get my vote for POY in the conference."

J'Covan Brown is scoring at a high rate because he takes a ZILLION shots per game on a team with 6 freshmen in the rotation. He is shooting a dismal 41% on the year. Brown takes an astounding 28% of his teams total shots. That's absurd. T-Rob is at 22.5% of Kansas' FG attempts. Brown isn't close to POY in the conference. I would put both T-Rob and Taylor ahead of him right now, along with Royce White, Ricardo Ratliffe and Perry Jones.

I would tend to agree, but just saying.  Brown has less around him than most players you named.  He has to take more shots.  Honestly 40% from him is not bad considering his game is outside oriented.  Ratliffe is a garbage player.  Jones is and has been overrated and soft.  Royce White is a head case.  They are all talented, but have glaring issues.  So I guess I would say that right now TT Trob, and Brown are my 3 favorites considering all things.

At least you made your "I hate Mizzou" feelings apparent. Saying that 40% from a POY candidate "isn't bad" and then calling a guy shooting 77% "garbage" makes me laugh. We all hate Mizzou but that's just silly. Was T-Rob a better player at the beginning of the year when he was trying to do everything? That's where Brown still is this year, trying to do everything because he doesn't trust his teammates. The results? Loss after loss. Not POY worthy.

Don't love a guy just on his ppg stats alone. It doesn't mean he's great.

After watching Browns performance tonight, no he's not POY worthy.  After watching some other games this year  though he had some really good solid games and looked like a contender at least.  But however if he played with some better talent around him he wouldn't have to chuck so many shots.  No honestly, right now, I don't see a player of the year on any team that brings it every night.  TRob has to be more deserving overall, but is losing some ground since his performances are slowing down a bit.

No seriously, I don't know who is actually the  front runner for POY other than TRob.  TT is closing that gap some, but overall I think its TRobs to lose at this point.  There will be some players put up huge numbers in games this year, but I haven't seen any one put up points and rebound numbers as consistent as TRob is doing.

I like to ruffle some feathers with my comments.  Its all in fun.  How much fun would these boards be if everyone agreed on everything?  I was called out for being to negative during Saturday's game.  That doesn't bother me.  I have watched us lose alot of games in the last 27 years that we should have won.  I have seen us lose games that the better team won as well, but not many.  Being critical is part of being a fan.  Being real about what you see is being a fan.  Having blue colored glasses on is also being a fan.  WE all make up a great fan base.  If you don't have some black you never get to see the white.  If you don't have some white, you don't see the black.  If I say black, Shoe is going to say White.  THats whats fun.

Come on Shoe, you got to laugh at that some!
