Not a surprise at all....dude has lost the ability to finish.

The thing I find hilarious is that TW got paid more to show up than Rock did in winning.  That's freakin' awesome.

I guess a person acquires signicant clout from winning a bunch of majors.  I'm sure Woods will be dissappointed in the outcome but if you scan down the leaderboard, you will notice he finished 10 shots better that the world # 1 Princess Donald and 5 shots better than dopey Westwood.

If both players are at the top of their game, it will be a lot of fun to watch Woods and McIllroy battle this year.

All the haters were all over pointing out when "scrubs" finished ahead of TW so it's nice of you to point out that, while another "scrub" beat TW this week, TW still finished ahead of the so called good players like Donald, McIlroy, etc.

It would be awesome if we could get a TW/McIlroy showdown at least once this year; I invision them having several of them.

Not to mention that while Woods was competing against some of the best in the world, Phil Mickelson was missing the cut at Torrey Pines.  I'm not a fan of Tiger at all, but the way some people try to spin an outcome makes me question the minds of man today.

Good point.   Everyone was killing TW for his poor finishes.  Phil misses a cut in an event dominated by "nobody's" and there's hardly a peep about it.

Tiger is and was the Champ! The Champ must win, nothing short of that and he will win this year perhaps not just once but more than once with a Major or two , when he puts his act together. So being xx shots better than the current no 1 or 2 ain't enough! Not for Mr Woods! Has he really really returned? Not yet, but new rock stars have arrived!

but new rock stars have arrived!

Stars maybe but not rock stars.  Rock Stars are guys like TW, Phil, DLIII, Furyk, Els and guys like that that are able to win, or at least compete for wins, consistently.  Right now there are just a bunch of new guys that pop up to win once or twice and then fade back to the pack.

It is amazing that the only defense that the Tiger lickers can come up with is "Ya but so-and-so also lost".  Freakin' losers

Actually, McIlroy finished one stroke better than Woods. He finished 2nd by himself while Woods was tied for 3rd with a few others.

Lets call it what it was. A MASSIVE CHOKE from Woods.

54 holes tied for the lead with a virtual no name.  Woods CHOKED  over the final 18.

Want a bit more evidence? Rock screwed up his drive on 18. It offered Woods a glimmer of hope. All he needed to do was split the fairway. Rock was in trouble.  Woods CHOKED. Missed the fairway, lucky  not to be behind a tree.

Woods choked. ......I trust you all agree with the truth.

Yeah, my bad Andrew, I realize that after I posted.

Noko, I'm gonna have to disagree on this being a choke job from TW.  I mean, it's not like he went out and shot 78; he shot even par.  Choke implies he had the win all but in his pocket and made some huge error down the stretch to not seal the deal.  That was not the case.  Was he in great position to seal the deal?  Absolutely.  Did he FAIL to seal the deal?  Yes.  But the win was never "in his pocket" so to speak; he still had to go out and earn it, like Rock ended up doing.  I would saying failing and choking are two different animals.

An example of choking is what happened at Torrey Pines.

Rory would have won the tournament had he not brushed the sand off the green and got a TWO stroke penalty.

And all of you who know me......... I'm still sticking to my guns.

I did not know that Lava. I didn't watch one second of this tournament other than the brief highlights on Sports Centre, I just checked the leaderboard when I woke up the last few days.

Although you can't say for sure Rory would have won. After reading more that incident happened in the 2nd round, so who knows how things play out if McIlroy had a 1 shot lead over Rock and Woods going into the final round. And further more, which one of those 2 in a tie for 2nd would have been in the final pairing with McIlroy? Ever since the US Open last year, the golfing world has been waiting for a Rory-Tiger Sunday showdown

Woods record for being the 54 hole leader or tied is 48-4.  Woods had played exceptional golf for the previos 3 days. Yesterday he was up against a relative novice  . Woods couldn't hit a fairway all day.......ie he chocked

Rock hit a terrible shot on 18. Woods of yesteryear would have split the fairway and put Rock under enormous pressure.  Woods drove the ball into the rough....he CHOKED.

You are right, he didn't shoot a 78. But in Tiger Woods terms he choked.

I have to agree with Noko on this one. Tiger did choke, but he will come back and growl again and win a Makor or two or three and four! I disagree with rockie on this one, I mean lava! My sympathy and agony for bot Tiger and Kyle respectively . Kyle was a choke by a non-champ and Tiger was a choke by a champ. Lesson: Even champs choke. Even champs can lose their intimidation . The Rock stood still. Good for him. Tiger's return is imminent! Tim

Really wouldn't say that Woods choked. We've really not bee given any indication that he has the ability to play a strong final round over the last 2+ seasons other than at Augusta. Rock played well and he's not a guy who just walked out of the desert and decided to play. He scored his first victory last summer and was on a plane to compete in the US open where had a good showing only days after becoming eligible to play.
