Djokovic defends Australian Open title in longe...

January 31, 2012 12:21 am

That was a great game, even if Djoker ws tired and spent. I was kind of getting to the point of not watching much tennis anymore as he is dominating the game so much and the outcome of each event sf so obvious. Nadal was right there and just as the commentators said he couldn't let up for a second. Nadal did in the final two games, and it was over. I watched that game, and Djokovich had the pressure on every single game almost. Nadal finally broke. Nadal has the tools, and more to beat Djoker, he may need new coaches. His groundstrokes are far too short. He needs a backhand which Joker feasted on to open the court. He was gaining an unbelievable serve a couple years back it seems, with the serves approaching 130 or more if i remember correctly, but he seems to have taken that out. He definitely needs to get a little more zip on first and second serves, for those easy games. He got patterned to death by Djokovich, who uses D and O equally well, and court coverage. Nadal may have been hurt last year a fair amount. He will be back. Djoker really seems to embellish his injuries on-court, and play it up for his opponents. It's a distraction that does work even a little, and at this level, a little is a lot. Opponents have got to ignore this boken wing ploy, and other distractions Djokovich engages in. Its gamesmanship, has been done for eons, but you still gotta play it out as an opponent, and even retaliate somehow if you can. Nadal is a beast, and he will be there this year if his real injuries are kept at bay.
