Azarenka rises to No. 1 as other rankings shift...

Kim Clijsters goes from champion to semi-finalist and drops almost twenty spots while Li Na goes from finalist to fourth round loser and only drops four spots. And Sam Stosur loses in the first round and actually moves UP one spot! Does this make sense to anyone? Even the great Martina Navratilova has said the current WTA rankings system is flawed and should be revamped. Yet the WTA sees nothing wrong and stubbornly maintains its obstinate no need to fix it if it isn't broken stance. Apparently the Scarecrow isn't the only one in need of a brain!

It breaks my heart a little that only 1 American is in the top 10 for men or women. I guess the days of US dominance are way back in our rear view mirror.
