I have no issue whatsoever with allaboutDatU's take on the situation.

Here's the issue I think could be bad for the Bulls, you can't trade Taj and Mirotic plus the Charlotte pick in any trade scenario, right there you get rid of all your PF depth. If anything you need to keep Mirotic, the draft pick is so far down the line that it is a gamble to wait on that and not actualize what can be done right now. There is no telling if that pick is gonna be a bust or if it's a week draft, the likelyhood is that top pick in 2016 is just getting his feet wet now in highschool so we can't project what the overall value is.

Taj will be a part of most deal scenarios, I have no problem with giving the draft pick away in any deal, but to add all of our PF depth in a trade wouldn't be rational. We would desperately want Mirotic if we had Howard on this team so as to space the floor better.

Czman, although that trade could possibly work out I do not like it because it breaks up too much of the nucleus of this team.  I want to give up the minimum amount of players so we are still deep and the bench mob can still step in effectively when needed.  With your trade scenario in my eyes our bench will be scarce to say the least.

I know giving up Deng would suck but if we at least stay up to par with how good we have been playing, our upside is much higher with Howard and Rose compared to Deng and Rose.  I would take Howard's production for the next 10 years over Dengs for the next 2-4.  If worst comes to worst, we can get a defensive specialist for Heat games only even though if they are an offensive liability.  I could live with that as long as Howard is in the lineup.  Plus, it will be much harder for Lebron to take it to the lane when he knows Howard will be waiting for him especially since he has no 5 man to cover against Miami.

If you have a chance to get howard you do it.  With him and Rose the Bulls would be the best team in the league.  I think Brewer taking Dengs place wouldnt be that bad if we had to trade Deng for howard in the deal.  I like Deng but this is a chance to get the best Big man in the game.  We would have the best PG and C in the league. Not bad.  Also whats great about Howard is he plays both ends of the court so our D would be even better because he is better then Noah on Defense.

here are the 2 packages the Bulls can go to get it done.

Noah, Deng, Butler, and 2 1st rd picks and maybe 1 2nd rd pick.

or

Noah, Gibson, Butler, and 2 1st rd picks 2nd rd pick.

We would still have Brewer, Asik and Kover.  I do think we would turn around and trade Kover for a SF.

The trade I would like to do would be Boozer, Noah and Butler and 1 st rd pick.  I dont think Boozer and howard would play well together or maybe they would be cause teams wouldnt double down on Boozer when he got the ball down low.  I have no clue.  I just hope we make the trade for the big guy.  We are talking about Kobe and Shaq here.  We would win atleast 3 titles.

I think what a lot of people are missing here is the salary portion of the trade.  You have to get the salaries to match.

Ultimately, the Bulls will probably have to give up 3 players and take back to get Dwight Howard from the Magic. The problem with trading guys like Taj Gibson, Omer Asik, and Butler is they don't have very large contracts so they don't even out the salaries very well and they are out performing their dollar amount.

I would like to see the Bulls keep Luol Deng, but he should by no means be untradeable.

I don't think the Bulls will pull the trigger on a deal this big.  It will most likely take a 3rd team that has cap space.

Howard is making almost 18 million this year and Joakim Noah makes 10 million this year. It will be very hard to find one or two players that can make that up on the Bulls that the Magic would want and that the Bulls could play without.

This is why this seems like a 3+ for 2+ deal or a 3rd team gets involved.

ok so if Howard makes 18 million what about putting Noah and Deng.  That would give the Bulls giving about 20 million back.  That matches.

The problem is that Luol Deng actually makes 12.3 million this season.  It would be about a 4.5 million dollar difference.  I am not sure that would be acceptable under these new CBA rules. I honestly don't know what was changed and what didn't.

The Magic have a 5 million or so dollar trade exception.  It might work.

The problem is don't see the magic taking on more salary when they lose Dwight Howard.  That would be a really bad idea.

Joakim Noah, Luol Deng, Taj Gibson and whatever draft picks for Dwight Howard and Hedo. Money matches Orlando gets a good defensive front court and Luol Deng plus draft picks. Decent deal for Orlando great deal for Chicago.

You have Hedo and Jimmy Butler as well as Kyle Korver and Ronnie Brewer still. (Give up Brewer if they want him) as well as Derrick Rose, Rip Hamilton, and Cj Watson. And your bigs are Howard, Carlos Boozer, Omer Asik, Scalabrine and whatever big man they sign. They could try and get Kenyon Martin and or Jr smith on the cheap just for the stretch run this year as well. Not a bad team and I think Boozer plays better with Howard as they can't double or help on him in the low post. Also could clean up nicely when Howard is doubled.

If we give up Deng we cant give up brewer. We still need defense.  Brewer D is not as good as Dengs but he is still good.  I wouldnt give up both.

I agree with Purguy, in that I dont want to give up both Deng and Brewer. Yes we get the huge defensive return of Howard, but still. If you are going to beat Miami, you need to have at least one guy that is a great perimeter defender, and Brewer can guard the 2 and 3 very well

Bulls would keep Deng for sure, theyll try to keep noah, they would trade Boozer. Boozer and Noah is a fine trade for me cuz I like Gibson and Asik.

Boozer Asik Brewer/Rip and Charlotte pick for Howard and Harper
