UNC vs. Wake Forest Game Thread

I REALLY like Bullock's defense. Wow. He's playing better D than Dex did. This guy is changing our mojo being in the starting lineup. He adds a more well rounded dimension than Dex did. Last night was a COLD shooting night from our Heels, with many misses coming from a few feet from the bucket. I think Henson and Zeller should start using the glass more on their short shots. Too many short misses on the rim. I could really care less, though, about an off shooting night. That will happen to any team. Im just very happy with this new defensive intensity our boys are bringing. Bring on Maryland, a tough away game.

Well, what can I say that hasn't already been said? Ugly win, yes, but its still a W. Most of the game it seemed they couldn't buy a shot. Thank God for the defense, boards and decent FT %. We have to win like this sometimes but it brings out the best in the players, especially in a grinder. We CANNOT play like this against Maryland or it will be UGLY. I believe Maryland will bring their 'A' game and you know they want to knock us off. Maryland always plays well and has upset potential.

Bullock is Awesome. I've liked him from the beginning. I knew he just needed some playing time. I feel for Dex, but I think sometimes having a little less depth can be a good thing for the team overall.

Ugly win, but I don't think it was because of lack of effort. I'm hoping our guys start seeing a bigger basket soon...

I agree Enrico Bullock should have been starting several games ago but I still wish we had Dex as a back up point. Bullock brings alot more on offense then Dex and I think he is just as good on defense but Dex is far better then White at this point.  As far as the game goes it was UGLY man was it UGLY. I'm glad we were playing Wake and not one of the better teams in the ACC or we may have lost that game. I would like to say how impressed I have been with Tyler Zeller the last 4 or 5 games. He has taken his game to another level and is diffinitely leading by example out there on the court.

I feel bad for Dex getting hurt and I wonder if he will ever get to start at UNC again. I can't see him starting again with Bullock, Hairston, and a healthy Mcdonald on our team but he should be a glood player off the bench. I also doubt he will see much time at the point next year with Paige coming in so Dex might see a big time minutes cut next year. Hopefully he keeps his head up and gets healthy and surprises everyone with a really great season next year. Go Heels !!!!!!!!!!!!

You make a great point about the possibility of Dex having his minutes cut with the configuration of the team next year. However, don't under-estimate Roy's  loyalty to upperclassmen. Dex will be a senior next year and will at least, if healthy get a shot at gaining his job back by next January. Having said that, Dex may want to think about taking a medical red-shirt for next season and be 100 percent healthy as a 5th year senior. 

I said it in the gtech thread dex could be screwed if he doesn't develop a shot. Our pg coming in are top and will demand starting time. Mix in pj Reggie lesile all shooters who can get wet from the 3pt line.... Dex might be in trouble. I'm sure lesile will redshirt this year which helps dex doesn't have that luxury. Bullocks defense is great six height is a mismatch at 6-7 he can shoot to me he's all around better than dex whose a lockdown defender but bring no offense and no threat to score much. Also like I said and will say dex injury isn't that big as people tried to portray it. White will do fine watts is there Barnes can play point forward. We got size for days and if we can consistently shoot threes we will be a problem for teams to tame. Wake game was ugly offense wise good defense consistency is the key and we need it. Maryland is up on deck and we know how they play up to teams in blue wether lite or dark

I didnt enjoy this game at all. Feels like for long stretches, we dont actually try to get the ball in the hoop but instead just show we shoot AT the hoop. Luckily, rebounding, 2nd chances and WF sucking kept our bad shooting in check. Still, great shooting teams dont go hot and cold on a alternate game basis. We need to throw together several great shooting games, both outside and in, before I really get comfortable. Then again, I guess it's moot as long as they shoot better than the opponent come March...
