The Arkansas/Missouri rivalry

I would have probably let Missouri and Arkansas be permenant cross division foes and moved South Carolina to playing Texas AM.

I guess since SC can't beat the Hogs there would be a lot of people wishing the same thing!........I don't like the fact that Missouri joined the SEC, I don't think they bring anything into the conference that will  be any kind of asset to the conference.....Texas AM is a different story! ......I'm sure Missouri is happy to be placed in the East.

Iwas actually talking up Missouri for expansion.  The other candidates like WVU were decent FB teams, but the total package IMO wasn't as good.  Mizzou has a great BB program, and a good and improving FB program.  I believe recruiting and fundraising is and will improve by being in the SEC.  The excitement of having SEC powers coming to town will drive facilities expansion to capitalize on higher ticket sales.  Academically, Missouri is as good as Forida, Vandy, and AtM.  They also give us negotiating rights to St. Louis and K.C. T.V. markets.

You got a point Franchise it is going to be a good one and in years to come only get better, we all love those rivalry games as they add an extra spark often times to the whole game, also one has to think now that Mizzou is in the SEC Arkansas and them both will be competing for recruits in the same area.

There are no inner conference rivalries in SEC basketball.  Never has, never will be.  Maybe the in-state, in-conference, rivalries like Tenn vs Vandy, and Ole Miss vs Miss St. But, even that's a stretch; at best, those are very, very weak rivalries.
Hopefully, Mizzou will continue with the "Boarder War" with Illinois in both football & basketball.

That's mostly Kentucky's fault.  They've historically thumped most of us, except for the back to back title runs we had.  Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida have all had their moments, as well as recently Vandy and USC.  We all measure ourselves against Kentucky in roundball, though.

Women's sports have a few budding rivalries like gymnastics and softball.  Tennis is interesting for the girls, as well.

Baseball promises some of the best rivalries, however.  We have some great series with LSU and South Carolina.  Everything in mens' sports is and always will take a back seat to football in the SEC, though.

Ummmm, kind of.....

But, we'll start getting the better of you guys eventually.  We still have to focus on beating the East teams, primarily, every year.

Maybe, but not in the near future......I do like having SC as our permanent team from the east , Columbia is a great place to visit and go to a game,  great atmosphere and people ....although you need to concentrate on the east teams a loss to the Hogs is still going against y'all and if this year had been a win for y'all you could have been in the SEC championship game.

There is no rivalry because Arkansas dominates...
Missouri holds the lead in the series and a 29 point advantage.

This is true.  Although, that Auburn loss at home was WAY more galling than losing to you guys, what with that terrific offense you had.  I didn't really expect that we would beat you guys, even after Knile Davis was injured, but I was almost 100% sure we would slap-hell-outta Auburn.  That one's gonna haunt me for years.

I also like that you guys are the permanent rival.  We're still the "new guys" to most of the rest of the league, and it makes sense that we keep playing, since we're like blood brothers, or something.  If we have to lose that rivalry, I guess I'd want either Mississipi State or Missouri every year.  We've had some really good games with the Bulldogs, and I think we match up well with Mizzou.

I really like the way you think and see things and I takle the things you say to heart.....I don't think you will lose the rivalry between Ark and SC and having Mizzou every year I think is a win for SC! ......I have to admit that SC is my favorite team in the East, I always pull for the Gamecocks!....the game in Columbia this coming season should be a great one!...GO HOGS!!
