Devian Shelton 4-Star DB: 11:00am (probability 50/50: NU vs. USC) Andrus Peat 5-Star OT: 12:35pm (on ESPNU) (probability 60/40: NU vs. Stanford) Aaron Curry 3-Star DT: 7:00am (probability 70/30: NU vs. Iowa) Raymond Ford 3-Star DB: TBD (probability 50/50: NU vs. WSU) Sebastian Smith 3-Star S: (Probably after signing day)[100% NU if offered scholarship] Vincent Valentine 3-Star DT: 1:00pm (probability 90/10: NU vs. UF) Alonzo Moore 4-Star ATH: 9:00am (probability 50/50: NU vs. MSU)
Forget Sebastian Smith... he committed to Ohio tonight. i hope this is a sign that some of the guyswe really wanted are def on board. Most kids probably informed the coaches tonight of their decision.
I don't think Peat will come to NU. I see him signing with Stanford. A degree from Stanford and the chance to play on a good OL line that has churned out some good NFL prospects the last couple years will sway him to go to Stanford. But I hope I am wrong.
I've heard the younger peat may wanna step out of his cousin and brothers shadow.. But I've also heard parents dont wanna make several trips meaning it would be easier if they all went to th same school. So I don't know I hope we steal Moore from msu that would be great.
From what I have read and heard...the most likely to sign are Peat, Valentine,Curry, and Moore. Shelton received a USC offer to go with Washington not likely to come to NU aledgedly. Ford also seems to be looking at staying in the Pac12 Utah Cal WSU.
Sebastian Smith has given a verbal to Ohio...some think if both Ford and Shelton don't come he may get an 11th hour from NU. It ain't over til they sign on the Dotted line and fax it in.
I am still very interested in the SURPRISE guy...seems like BO pulls a 4 star most people have not heard of...I guess that could be one of the guys above or someone from last month who knows. I'm not hearing of anyone...thought maybe 1 of the Rutger kids but one is staying the other to UCLA.
All in all looks like NU will be 3rd in the Big 10 and if the Big 4 sign then we will more than likely end up in the Top 20. Good looking class now it just needs to be finalized.
I'm not that excited about tomorrow myself because there seems to be very little chance of a NICE surprise. If Peat goes to Stanford not a surprise, If Valentine goes to Ill or Fld no surprise. Moore and Curry have other offers also. I just really have'nt heard any chatter of a big name maybe coming in...so I wont be up early waiting to see if that happens.
LeRoy Alexander and Michael Rose have confirmed sending in their LOI's... obviously Mo Seisay sent his in and is already enrolled. Aaron Curry is set to announce any moment.
Alonzo Moore just made his decision...... He is 'N' 4-Star ATH according to Rivals. Big pick up especially because of the loss of Fuller. Nebraska is 2for2 today.
Next up is Devian Shelton (4-Star DB) at 11:00am... it will be tough but if we can pull him and Peat this day could be a smashing success.
ZO wants to play qb played qb for three years in LA but also played Wr and can corner. So hopefully the staff lets him play qb so that Wr have options in case the injury bug strikes the qbs. If not qb he's 6-2 frame will be perfect for corner or better yet Wr since we need speed in that area
I'm thinking they probably start him out at CB... they already have Tommy Armstrong in this class and we need depth on the defensive side of the ball especially if Shelton commits to USC instead of us.
