National Signing Day is here...

Today is the day that we find out who officially goes where.  Well, I wasn't expecting to much today... since Michigan class is near it's limit.  But Michigan got a commitment late last night or early this morning in the commitment of Dennis Norfleet.  He has switched from Cincinnati to Michigan.

Christopher Wormley is the 1st of the 2012 to send in his LOI!!!!!  **Per Sam Webb of WTKA**.

Fills a position of need excellent hands would be great in the slot position plus  with his speed call it explosive and ability to make players miss would make him an great return man

A.J. Williams has send in his LOI.  This young man is quite comical & he sounds like he has a head on his shoulders.

Excellent news about Norfleet!  Adding a 4-star in the backfield is a pleasant surprise!  I have felt that top additional needs at this point are RB and DT, and we just added one of each in the past couple of days.  Now if we can just get another TE in this class.  Immediate playing time should be a selling point for incoming TE's.  And, of course, hope we can add Diamond to finish off a phenomenal o-line class.

Not sure what to expect from Norfleet.  He's not very big, which is likely the reason that U-M didn't offer earlier, but he put up monster numbers in the PSL.  Hopefully a Jamie Morris / Michael Hart type.  In one place I saw a comparison to Darren Sproles.  Nothing wrong with that!

The day is off to a good start.  GO BLUE!!!

Yeah he's not that tall hockeydad55, but the young man runs a 4.34 forty.  I'm pretty sure Michigan can use him as a PR.

Maybe keep a running tally here?  If my math is correct, we have 25 verbals following the announcements by Henry and Norfleet.  (Hopefully it goes to 26 if we can land Diamond).  Sounds like we have 3 LOI's at this point.

so Hoke indeed pulled in a last minute surprise... not too shabby at all, although Norfleet seems like more of a RR recruit, but oh well, positive recruiting news is always welcome.

Late addtion to the class, DT Willie Henry has send in his LOI.

Sounds like the LOI's are coming in fast and furious, that makes me alittle less nervous about defectors.

Why the secrecy on this one?

It was not by our choice.

He had not really been a U-M recruit all along, so his academic file had to go through the regular channels, etc., and be accepted first (not that there was anything wrong with the file -- but just in case, had it not been approved, and the Norfleets needed the fallback of just quietly sticking with Cinci where he'd been committed). Then, he had to tell Cinci.

 

2. We NOW expect today to proceed in an orderly manner, from one to twenty-five -- as always, we'll let you know if-otherwise of course.

An notion of 'he'll tell the winning school by S-Day and then just sit back until the 3rd' -- has not turned out to be the case here. He's in the process of making up his mind. In the past 48 hours this one has swung and swung again:

-- Wisky vs Michigan

The one constant has been Michigan -- but this could swing some more ... and no decision has been made or told to any coaching staffs as yet.

You may have heard of Nrorfleet, he was the RB that couldnt play in the UUAAG because it would have blown his eligibility as a HS track athlete. He is one of if not the states top sprinter....Speed, Speed, Speed!!!
