Just why is he doing this?

He said 10 oz gloves are pillows for him.

I read that. I'm just curious as to why he's not negotiating a catch weight & requesting lesser padded gloves.

He said he wants Cotto to be at hs best and 100% comfortable so there are no excuses.  Manny and Arum made Cotto jump through hoops with all sorts of demands to make Cotto a less effective fighter, Floyd wants to beat Cotto with Cotto calling the shots (well, all the shots that don't have to do with money anyway).  Speaking of money, Cotto is making more in this fight than he's ever made before and getting all his "in the ring" demands met as well, unlike when he was with Arum... Don't think that's not a hint to Manny from Floyd about how good Manny could have it if he'd just leave Arum.

GRR question for ya, do you think Floyd would reconsider at 50/50 split if Manny were to leave Arum?

No, I don't.  When he offered Manny 50/50 2 years ago and Manny refused because he didn't want to do drug testing Floyd said he would never offer Manny 50/50 again.  At this point I think it's a pride thing.


I do, however, think if Manny leaves Arum Floyd would make sure he got the best deal and make the most money he has ever had by a huge margin, just like he did with Cotto. 

Good point GRR, Floyd seem to be true to his word on the 50/50 split not happening, but I think that fight is quickly losing its appeal.
