Injuries Killing us

Blowouts well last blow out against the sixers Rose didnt play the 4th at all.  So I have no Idea what you are talking about.  I do remember in the start of the year he did that because he wanted his players to get Min.  Now that we are 1/3 of the season through he doesnt do that anymore.  Also I think people are forgetting how many injuries this team has had.  I dont know if people have notice but Butler has been playing more.  Thibs is started to trust him a little more.  This will help with Min played for some players.

In the playoffs, no **** sherlock, of course you keep your best players out there to get the win. But this is the regular season, one in which the Bulls have absolutely nothing to prove, and one that is condensed. Bulls also have the most depth in the league. You do the friggen math.

Noooooo, you do the math.  Until Rose & Deng are leading the league in minutes then they are not being over played.  I don't understand how you can materialize in your head that Lebron, Kobe, Love, Wade, etc. are playing more minutes than Rose but yet you think Rose should get more time off.  That is mind boggling.

You guys are simply looking at minutes per game as the definitive gauge.  Of course it's a measure but you can't simply compare other players and say since Player A is less than Player B, Player A is not being overused.   You mentioned Kobe.  Kobe has no choice but to stay on the floor if the Lakers want to win.  The Lakers aren't very good with him and they are awful without him.  Kevin Love?  His team won't even be in the playoffs, so he gets a lot longer time to rest while other guys are playing playoff basketball.

As I type tthis the evidence is right in front of you.  We're up 20 + pts with under 4 minutes to go, Skiles has emptied his bench, but Rose and Deng, both of whom are still nursing injuries, are still out there?  Why?  Makes absolutely zero sense.    You guys agree with this?  I'm not saying we should be resting people for fear of injury but pick your spots.  Here is a perfect one and Thibs didn't take it.  Did he think Mike Dunleavy, Jon Brockman, and Beno Udrih were too much for our bench to handle?  Stupid.

Look, we all know that it is only too many minutes if you are leading the league in minutes.  Luol Deng is second so he is not leading the League.  He is first in the East though.  He is first for SF too.  He does not lead the league.

The Bulls may be the only team with two players in top 10 MPG in the East, but hey they are not leading the league in minutes.

41+ minutes in a 23 point blowout, on his first day back from a major injury.......no big deal.

Tibs can do no wrong and those who even suggest he has should be struck down for their defiance.

Even though he had great game vs the Nets I hope Carlos Boozer gets injured in the playoffs if we face the Heat. Taj Gibson can put in his mostly offday type of stats up.

Playing time is a huge factor in injuries and so is stretching. First of all Luol has a history of being injured a long history at that. I argued this a long time ago with James Johnsons PT and Tyrus Thomass PT I always said they should have gotten more of it and Luol shouldve gotten less of it. I was right then and the same can be said this year with Jimmy Butler, Thibbs wants to win and he doesnt care how he does it is the problem. Rose is in at the end of the games all the time when he shouldnt be and its wrong on every level possible. If you cant draft and develope young talent you can only get better for so long until you become todays Celtics (who have made some nice draft picks actually but have traded them or not developed them very well) Guess who coached the Celtics before the Bulls.... Thibbs. Less Minutes for star players means longer careers and less injuries. KG got hurt Pierce has been hurt of late in recent years as well. Perkins missed a season as well all under Thibbs.

Last but not least if we had better backups maybe Thibbs would play them more... Scals is terrible and a waste of a roster spot literally anyone in the D League is a cheaper and better player. Mike James or John Lucas .... same thing way better players are in the D League I have no idea why these guys played for us when there are much better options out there. Kieth Bogans is better than all those guys only problem is he wasnt any good either but he was better than those guys.

"Anyone want to revise their comments about playing time and injuries."
Rose's injury is really the only injury (albeit a big one), that you can possibly blame on playing time (too much of it).

Deng hurt his wrist.  You can hurt your wrist at any point of the game.  The wrist isn't something that gets "worned down" by playing too much (especially your non-shooting hand).

Rips most recent injury is him running into hard screens and hurting his shoulder in the first minute and half of a game.  Can't blame that on "too many minutes"

Watson dislocated his elbow and injured his ankle, both injuries that could happen at any point of the game (the 1st quarter possibly)

Everyone else has been relatively heatlhy, *knock on wood*.

Luol Deng's wrist got injured with a few minutes to go in a game where the Bulls were up by more than 10 when it happened.

John Lucas also had muscle injury after playing 45 minutes in a game.

Richard Hamilton has had two muscle injuries and one of them came after playing 42 and 38 minutes in consecutive games.

So the reality is you can look at 3-5 injuries being due to playing time.

This is two consecutive seasons we have seen this.  Inherently, the more minutes a guy plays the more changes a player has to get injured.

Really surprised people still don't see this.

Everyone else has been relatively heatlhy, *knock on wood*.
That usually goes hand in hand with playing limited minutes.
